@Wavinator The brightness factor doesn't worry me in the slightest because I only ever use the originator on 2 anyway

@Waveboy
The screen brightness difference in that picture may have nothing to do with one being an original and the other being an XL. 3DS' in general seem to have a lot more variance in a couple of areas, including circle pad stiffness and screen appearence. My near launch black system's screen looks like the original 3DS in that picture, but my brother's blue launch system has the same goldish look as the XL there. Settings are all the same, they just look different. His circle pad is also stiffer than mine. Anyways, thanks for the additioanl pics, guys! Keep 'em coming!

My local asda (Bletchly) has a demo 3ds xl, it is very nice. only able to play a demo version of mario land. The screens are epic, but the general look and feel is just cheap. But will be getting one.

I should probably tell everyone here that I've found a 3DS XL for £164.99.
I believe it's the cheapest price in the UK so far.

@TwilightPoint That's not cheap at all, it's the same price the 3DS XL will be here over in NZ and Australia. Except when you convert it, it will be $320 NZD. Australian price is set at $249.95 AUD which is also approx. $320 here, don't get too excited , I don't think they'll be any price drops/cuts for the new unit or the original 3DS anytime soon.

I've just read an article in a magazine and noticed the 3DS XL has actual START/SELECT buttons. I HATE those pathetic excuses on the 3DS - they're so awkward.

So yeah. One more reason for me to buy it.

One more reason why you should buy the 3DS XL: We can play all our VC games in proper resolution without having to squint at the detail.

Engadgets review is up
http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/10/nintendo-3ds-xl-review/

Pretty favorsble with a couple complaints
-loss of chrome stylus
-no 2nd analog stick
-crappy screen resolution (oh nintendo why you use crappy tech)
-lack of compactive touch screens
-Eshop not having full content yet.
-lack of charger and cradle in the UK model
-switching from a 3DS to XL and upgrading SD cards harder than it should be.

I pretty much agree with most of those points. They still say if you want a 3DS pull the trigger on the XL
