Topic: 3DS has surpassed PS3 lifetime sales in Japan

Below is the full chart on Japan's hardware sales last week. Lifetime sales are in parenthesis:

Nintendo Wii U - 308,142 (308,142)
Nintendo 3DS - 211,499 (8,799,378)
PlayStation 3 - 36,994 (8,716,260)
PSP - 19,637 (19,488,236)
PlayStation Vita - 11,039 (1,074,621)
Nintendo Wii - 6,714 (12,608,700)
Xbox 360 - 1,216 (1,608,399)
PlayStation 2 - 904 (21,829,112)
Nintendo DS - 424 (32,875,469)

Just look at Nintendo, they are doing so awesome in Japan.

Oh and if that's not bad enough for Sony just look at the Vita sales. Poor Sony.

If Sony goes under... Does that mean PSOne/PSP games on 3DS and PSOne/2/3/Vita games on WiiU?

It also shows wii was outsold by PSP I think it says more about handhelds preference over consoles in Japan than brand preference really.

But PS3 outsold PSP

Simply because of Monster Hunter

We're talking lifetime sales here.

PS3 has over 8,000,000 in sales. PSP has over 19,000,000 in sales. I'm pretty sure the PSP has the higher number.

PSP also outsold the Game Boy Advance in Japan

EDIT: In 2013, I'm predicting that the 3DS pass the Wii's lifetime sales over there.

EDIT 2: Dang, the PSP outsold the Famicom and Super Famicom it's also only 2 million units away from the PS2

At least the Vita's nearly reaching the lifetime sales of the 360.
