Pokémon Presents February 2026: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

Came here to comment on the super-based subtitle reference. Literally no other reason.

Pretty much the only new things this Presents brought were the graphics of Winds and Waves (which are only adequate, nothing outstanding), the new starter Pokemon (which are only adequate, nothing outstanding), and the fact that Gen 10 will only release in 2027 (which is sort of a double-edged sword for me because on one hand its great that Game Freak is taking their time but also now I have no Nintendo games to look forward to this year). That said, I've enjoyed thoroughly picking apart the Winds/Waves reveal trailer.

Overall, Not Bad.

The new gen looks better, and I'm so hopeful it can bring it around.

Champions is also interesting, so looking forward to that.

The red/green downloads re-releases suck, there is nothing fun about those prices for an NSO subscriber.

And the music thing at the start looks honestly like a waste of plastic.

So I'm mixed...

An easy 10 out of 10 from me!

TCG getting another Celebrations treatment, Champions dropping in April, Pokopia next week, WiWa in a year...

My only wish was for more ZA DLC but that said, this Presents had everything I expected with no disappointments.

I give it a 7. There were some decent announcements and some great video transitions and art. Most announcements weren't out of left field for me outside of the GB music player - a cool curio, but nothing I need - but I was pleasantly surprised by our first look at Pokemon Winds/Waves. Pokopia is also shaping up to be my cozy game of choice in the future once I grab a Switch 2, and I'm glad Home support is confirmed for FR/LG (even if it was expected and is unfortunately a one-way street).

I'm excited for gen 10!

One thing that Id like from pokemon (besides decent graphics & no lag) is new pokemon... Not like 20 new mons but give me 100. Cut the rest if you have to. That would really freshen up the experience for me.

The mobile games are getting a little long in the tooth, which really slows down proceedings.
I'm disappointed that the only retro Pokemon game seemingly on offer this year is going to be Fire Red/Leaf Green. Not that they can't release more, or that it's a bad pick. I just want them ALL.
New game has got me swept up in mixed feelings, as per usual. This'll be the last I let myself see of it until launch, so it's going to be a very long, and likely unsuccessful, year of avoiding spoilers.
Likely I'll have to stay off NintendoLife until 2027's launch just so I don't have to see every single individual Pokemon announced lol

It kept a better clip than usual but it still wound up pretty much being a huge disappointment with nothing I particularly care about. Hoping we get more retro releases later in the year.

10/10, but only because of Winds and Waves. Without Winds and Waves, it's more like a 7/10.

@Zaruboggan We only knew about FR/LG getting released two weeks ago and have it today. TPC could literally do the same thing this summer and/or fall.

My expectation though is they won't release the next games until 2028 (HeartGold/SoulSilver).

It was ideal for me because of Winds and Waves and Champions. Pokopia also looks promising and I might want to revisit FireRed. There's not much left that I wanted to see aside from a Gold/silver/Crystal remake.

For a 30th anniversary, it was kinda weak. Nothing unexpected. W/W is so far away, why announce it so soon?

Felt really bare bones for a 30th Anniversary. Most of it is stuff you already knew was happening if you follow the games like Unite. XD before and without Colosseum is really weird too. I'm not sure if essentially just a Gen 10 reveal, as good as it looked, can be more than a 7.

The only announcement I have any real plans of engaging with was WiWa, and I was pretty satisfied with what we got.

why Gale of Darkness before Colosseum? I really don't get why the sequel releases first. Also, just "March"? You couldn't be bothered with a specific day?

It had a good finale considering how solid the Gen 10 reveal was, but I think it still has the same problem as most of the Pokemon presents: it's too drawn out with not enough exciting stuff at the beginning and middle. They give every little thing its own segment, even if that segment is as minor as saying "We added 1 new pokemon to this mobile game. Play it now!". It feels especially underwhelming considering the fact that this is such a big event for them...

Nintendo Directs get around this by showing off a big game/thing at the start and middle of the presentation, as breadcrumbs to enjoy before the big finale, and sprinkling in more exciting things with less exciting things. You watch the less interesting parts because next up might be a banger. The presents in comparison feel like a slog.

@InfamousOrange Because if they didn't, People would be up in arms about how they didn't announce Gen 10 and how it's been 3 years since SV were released. Long story short, people don't have patience and I assume TPC have to assure that, yes there's a new game coming.

Not bad. Nothing really blew me away. I guess I expected more for the anniversary of an iconic franchise

Winds and Waves looks great! I might actually get it if it's of good quality. The aesthetics remind me of Subnautica, and if the game plays well, this could be my first genuine Pokemon game.

I liked how quickly they went over the obligatory mobile games. Overall, I'm really hyped for gen 10! It will be hard waiting until 2027 for the games to come out. 😭 We probably won't hear a word about Winds/Waves until the next Pokémon Day.

It gave a 6/10. Winds and Waves looks great. Pokopia looking incredible. Other than that it felt lacking for the big 30. I cannot understand what the reluctance to put all games on the Switch is. Yes we got FRLG but where are the others. No time frame for Home updates is mad.

Brilliant! But only for Winds and Waves. The rest I didn’t care about

I remember when we used to see new pokemon before their debut games were even announced. Ho-oh, Togepi, Donphan, Munchlax… nowadays we see a 2nd Garchomp mega and new starter trio on a 30th anniversary broadcast and it’s like Christmas morning. Sweeping shots of a huge new generation game world, filled with exclusively old pokemon.

I don’t know what anyone gets out of the dozen 30 second mobile game updates that elaborate on nothing. Just reminding us they exist? It feels obligatory and I’m surprised Pokémon’s estimable marketing people haven’t come up with a better use of the runtime.

I skipped the mobile games and the GameBoy sound player was cute but to gimmicky for my liking. That said I gave it a 8. Gen 10 reveal was good and I liked Champions well enough.

I'm not a Pokemon guy, but I saw Spheal in there for about half a second, so that bumped the score up to an 8 lol

I love that we're getting Gale of Darkness so soon! Thought we'd get Colliseum first, but I'd take any of those two!

I loved the trailer for gen 10, omg everything looked good and I want all the starters!

90% filler 10% killer. Gen 10 and Gale of Darkness were only announcements that were something actually new , we'll that and whatever yhe music player gameboy was.

I'm grading the overall presentation and honestly, it was just ok. Gen 10 looked good, but that's about it. Other than the obvious Gen 10 reveal, nothing else felt "new". We got the same drabble of mobile games and announcements as per usual. For a 30th anniversary celebration, it seemed pretty lackluster.
