"The question is whether the scares, thrills and environments are as brooding, menacing and enticing as on the portable platform."
Guys it's the same game!! it even has more things than the portable version. I've said it before in my comments, your game reviews would be consistent if you came up with a rubric for all your staff to follow and let us see each item of the rubric, and then comment on each.... this is a clear example of inconsistency.

I really really hope they do something to stop cheaters online, that is the most annoying thing in multiplayer mode in MK7....

And of course, the game will have new cool features, nintendo always innovates.

ivanmata commented on Nintendo: 3DS eShop And App Store Comparison I...:

This is totally true, there is no way tablets or smartphones can compete with a gaming handheld device like the 3ds, it's just a unique experience you cannot get from a tablet or phone. I saw a kid in a plane go over 15 different games in his tablet in less than 30 min!, that proves that the quality of the games you find in an App Store is not enough to keep you interested longer than, let's say, 5 min.

I don't think it's the same people either, people that have a 3ds generally do not own more than a couple games in their phone, in my case I only have one, and its a pre-installed game XD.

You definitely don't want to concentrate on the story of a game, you would basically end up watching a movie, gameplay is the most important part of a game in my opinion, with a story that just makes sense, that's the ideal game for me.

I'm not liking the idea of forcing people to download games, this stock problem has occurred two times in a row now (I was affected with Fire Emblem Awakening). I think the majority of people still prefer physical copies.

He's right, I partially agree with him, but let's wait for E3, if everything remains the same (which I really doubt it will, specially when we know of some games that are being developed right now) then I will completely agree with him.

ivanmata commented on Talking Point: Review Scores and Unwinnable Ar...:

I guess a better approach would be to have multiple reviewers for every game (I think you guys do one game one reviewer) and then have those multiple reviewers discuss based a specific rubric, a standard list of criteria. You mention how the reviewer needs to assess the quality of the game even if it's not his/her type of game, I agree with that, but that I think is really hard, I recall reading your review (which received a low score compared to other websites) on f1 2011 for 3ds where a low score was given just because the reviewer did not like a single component in the game, I would agree that you can give a low score based on a single criterion if that lowers the overall game experience, so, going back to my comment I would say you wouldn't have this variability in people's opinion regarding your scores if you define and abide by a standard rubric.

ivanmata commented on Does The JXD GamePad 2 Remind You Of Anything?:

Looks like it would break with a couple of falls, the reason the wii U gamepad is kind of chunky is because it was designed to withstand multiple falls without breaking, they've already tested the wii U gamepad against falls and it passed the tests (gizmoslip). I agree it's a "shameless copy".

It is a little disappointing, because let's face it, microsoft and sony's new consoles will be way more powerful than the wii u, which means we will not get many third party games, but on the other side, we have plenty first party games (the really fun ones with excellent gameplay), that will definitely keep the console alive :D
