Bedtime Digital Games has revealed that Figment: Creed Valley is destined to arrive on Switch in fall 2020. A new teaser trailer has also been released, showing off some of the things you'll be getting up to in this upcoming sequel.

An encore to Figment, which first appeared on Switch back in 2018, this new release follows the story of heroes Dusty and Piper after their mission to restore peace in The Mind has concluded. This time, a new adversary is threatening its balance, and Dusty and Piper must travel to Creed Valley - where The Mind’s beliefs and ideals are formed - to face their "most menacing and theatrical" foe so far.

You'll be facing new enemies as you make your way through the game's new challenges, exploring The Mind's two fundamental states: Open-minded and Closed-minded. You'll need to switch between these states and adapt to the shifting environment to move forward, with puzzles and musical boss fights being present once more.

Niels Sørensen, Lead Designer of Figment: Creed Valley, has underlined the importance of how the game's narration has been constructed:

“It’s a story that works on two levels - an immediate level about a hero facing his foes but also on a more abstract level about a person trying to break out of society's norms and find their own way in the world.”

We have some screenshots and a feature list for you to check out below.

Players can expect:
- A fresh chapter of Figment with its own self-contained story
- New singing nightmares with their own original songs and themes
- Two sides of the same world with a unique state-changing mechanic
- A whimsical narrative and art style
- Mysteries unravelling as they venture into the depths of The Mind

If you haven't played the original, feel free to check out our review posted around the time of that game's launch to find out more. We praised the original game for its wonderful aesthetic and for the way in which it deals with its heavy subject matter, so we're hoping for more of the same this time around.
