Want to show off your impressive pecs in a safe-for-work, wholesome sort of way? Well, Nintendo of Europe has taken to Twitter to task Ring Fit Adventurers with the Pectoralis Major Challenge, the first in a set of weekly challenges to blast those quads, grip those glutes and generally get 2020 off to a healthy start.
Anyone lucky enough to have a copy of the hard-to-find fitness game is encouraged to grab their Ring-Con, test how many presses they can manage in 20 seconds and tweet the results at Nintendo:
There are no prizes for participating except a warm glow of satisfaction and a pleasant tight feeling in the chest (as opposed to the unpleasant tight feeling in the chest we experienced on Boxing Day after a box-and-a-half of Cadbury's Roses).
We're big fans of the game (we featured it in our Alternative Game of the Year Awards - twice, in fact, if you include the unnerving video that revealed the game proper), although as we reported earlier in the week, some of Team NL have had trouble finding a copy. Despite Nintendo throwing down the gauntlet, stock shortages in many countries might make participating even more challenging. We've had difficulties and it seems that various Twitter users are stuck in the same boat:
Despite being naturally incredible physical specimens (ahem), in this post-holiday period it must be said that we'd certainly benefit from getting in on this and the upcoming January challenges. Chance'd be a fine thing.
Have you been using Ring Fit Adventure to get 2020 off to a honed and toned start? Let us know below and check out our list of the best fitness and exercise Switch games if Ring Fit has got you in the mood to move.

350 for mighty pectoralis
I am in tremendous pain
Day 83, everything is rock solid.
Still out of stock everywhere in the UK! There goes my New Year's Resolution :
Hehe. I feel kind of bad because I preordered mine but still haven't opened it.
@ShaiHulud Interesting, I don’t think the US has had shortages. I had no trouble getting one at Game Stop and have seen it on shelves in Walmart. Maybe that is just evidence supporting the stereotype that Americans are fat?
@Tandy255 Your words, not mine The UK ranks very high in the obesity rankings of Europe, so don't think there's a correlation.
@ShaiHulud I do still see it on shelves, but it is selling fairly well. People waiting for a discount may be waiting a while. Wish we had an eShop option.
I saw a bunch of new Ring Fits along with recently restock Nintendo Switch systems at the local Target today. It has been selling over here in the US, but similar to the Switch Lite there seems to always be at least a few of them in stock at all times.
Unless it teaches you proper diet, no.
I want this game bad. Should be getting it right after Animal Crossing and Pokémon Sword.
@Shiryu day 1 for me! Damn this game is good, does the adventure mode last 83 days or you repeating chapters?
@Pekapa I'm on world 19, so don't worry, it will last you good amount of time.
I just started, got mine on Monday and I like it a lot.
@Shiryu I'm on world 4....😔
@NotoriousWhiz Not bad for day 1
I didn’t expect this game to be such a hit. It’s not quite Splatoon level, but for a new IP, it seems to have done quite well
@Tandy255 "People waiting for a discount may be waiting a while."
This is the realization I've come to. Even here in the U.S., despite the seemingly boundless stock, the game hasn't been reviewed poorly. So, if the Switch hardware didn't even take a price hit after the warping and drift issues, I don't see Ring Fit Adventure declining in price either.
Not until the next Black Friday, anyway, and I've decided not to wait that long to get some results. I'm not quite "gym-ready" mentally, but I think I've decided to give this a go.
I think I'm just about to cave. I've been training my brain with Dr. Kawashima since 2006, but I've been far too nervous and self-conscious to ever hit the gym.
I'm a skinny bloke, but my stamina/fitness is absolutely pathetic, so perhaps this may encourage me to regularly get off my bony hide.
Hard to find? Is this a joke? I can walk into any store nearby and they will have 3 or 4 of them just lying on the shelf, gathering dust because it costs too much.
Hard to find.... yeah, hard to find a sale. I'll buy it when it's $30, not before.
I just started today. Didn't have time for a really long workout, but it was good. I can see it helping to regulate my rather intermittent home workout routine. Money well spent.
Still loving mine. Started in November.
@XCWarrior Not everyone lives in the US!
@Shiryu nice, thank you!
