That's nice, but when is Octopath Traveler special edition going to be on pre-order?
Edit: Well, on amazon that is, as never buy from Nintendo Store prices as they charge way more and lose my orders
I pre-ordered for £34.99 at Smyths toys instore. that makes those pins £15. You can keep them.
@Curlynob wow that’s a great price
£50? Good one Nintendo! I agree with @Curlynob.
I see an item for sale, but I don't see any deals.
They didn't just announce this did they, 2 days before release? I'm not a big fan of paying for things before you get them, but I'm guessing people who want this game and know about the Nintendo UK store have probably already ordered it.
Don't know about the exchange rate these days, but the game is $60 in the US without any pins, so 50 with pins sounds pretty good to me. ☺
@rjejr The game shouldn't be $60.
@rjejr - Yes that's right, a $60 game translates to a £50 game. Though a game on the Nintendo store will always be RRP, and some stores follow this, but many others will sell it around 20% cheaper. So unless you want these little extras, you'd be crazy buying at Nintendo or GAME.
So when you see complaints about the prices, for the UK at least they are completely pointless and irrelevant because the articles will always mention the RRP.
@1UP_MARIO If you have a branch locally it's worth giving them a call. It was £39.99 with £5 off if you collect in store. They might still have the offer in store but it's not on the website anymore.
Buff Dedede? As a pin badge?
Want.
Here the game cost at most stores about 60 euro so that's about 75 dollar (exchange rate of today)
I have never seen a kirby game this expensive...
It seems that most of the games and controllers are much higher in comparison of a few years back.
@Curlynob thanks anyway. It’s not there no more. I checked it as soon as I saw your comment.
Kirby: Star Allies broke the release date at some Walmarts in the U.S. My friend and I got our copies yesterday.
Yeah, I'll just get it from Smyth's for £34.99👍
So where are the deals?
@JaxxDuffer 60=50
Yeah, that's what I thought, so the pins looked free to me, and free is good. Most Nintendo games do seem to be $60 US, $40 everywhere else, so I think that's the part of the equation I forget about. Reggie likes $60. And US retail is mostly MSRP unless you join a thing.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE $60
Well you've been around here long enough to know that's the way it usually works over here. I know Captain Toad was $60 here and $40 or the equivalent most other places, and I'm pretty sure the same thing happened with Splatoon on Wii U and maybe Yoshi Wooly World. Not to say the US never gets $40 games, Sonic Forces was, and the newish Rachel and Clank, but I believe all the 1st party Wii U and Switch games have been $60.
Could be worse, Canadian prices are insane. I'd have to quit gaming if I lived there.
But back to Kirby, the merits of the game being worth $60 aside, 50 for the game and pins seems like a good deal to me, even if that translates to $60 it makes the pins free. And they look nice.
Whether the game itself is worth $60 or not, we'll maybe not, but the demo was nice, and 1 2 Switch was $60, so Kirby is a bargain there, plus, games are rarely $60 anymore, more like $80 or even $90 with the season passes and DLC, so if this game stays $60 for all of it, I'm good with thst. That's how jaded I've become.
We're getting it for $48 on Amazon, free 6 months Prime Student, my kids each chipped in $25, I'm free loading on this one. My kids will get their money's worth, they 100% Kirby games.
@rjejr Captain Toad was $39.99 at launch in the US. Which means if the Switch port costs any more (like DKCTF), it's a ripoff.
@IronMan28 $40 makes sense, would explain why we bought it day 1 anyway, so thanks for the correction.
Amazon currently has both the Switch and 3DS versions of CT:TT for $40.
@rjejr well, that's acceptable, I may end up double dipping since the old Wii U is retired. Plus, my daughter loved TT on Wii U.
@IronMan28 Or you could get her Kirby, play with her, and don't freak out when she constantly deletes the save file. I mean she has to outgrow doing that eventually. 😆
@rjejr I never freaked out on her (or in general), it just got tiresome to keep going from the first level to where we were. My wife and I got pretty far and ended up having to start over for a fourth time. After that, we lost the will to play, lol. Long story short, we're just going to let her outgrow that, which we think is going to be fairly soon since she's turning four tomorrow.
@IronMan28 Well there ya go, buy her Kirby for her birthday. 😀
My son deleted all my Super Mario Galaxy saves when he was about 12 b/c he didn't know which of the 4 floating heads was his. I did freak out, and 3 years later I think he's still afraid of me b/c of it. 😢 On the bright side, no deleted saves since. 😆
