If you've been keeping up with our Let's Play videos on YouTube, then you'd have seen that a certain Damien McFerran had recently pitted me against the trials and tribulations of DuckTales: Remastered on the Wii U eShop. With a decent amount of retro experience to my name, I felt fairly confident as I stepped up to tackle WayForward's modern take on the NES classic
Buoyed on by an air of unfaltering bravado, I managed to get to the end of the level - well, kind of - without losing a single life. I felt like I'd done myself proud, and proven Damien wrong; after all, he thought this game was going to gobble me up like a pre-brunch appetiser. I eat a lot of food.
Anyway, after days of bragging, it turns out that I'd unwittingly set the game to its Easy mode. So, with the express written orders of our Editorial Director, I booted up the game once more, this time cranking up the difficulty to Hard. Gulp.
I also decided to do what any normal human being would do, and tackle the game in its intended order, with an ever-watchful Logitech webcam pointed directly at my panic-stricken mug. What follows is the result of hours of brutal, infuriating, and cruel gameplay, as I try to navigate my way through the game's very first level.
Feel free to watch the video right from the start to get a taste of the agony that Damien deemed necessary to put me through in the name of - and I quote - "scientific research."
There are even bloopers/a highlights reel at the end of the video for all of you sadists out there. Don't forget to subscribe to Nintendo Life on YouTube to keep up to date with the series.
