Hey folks, did anyone manage to make the live chat with the devs by any chance? I had people to pick up from the airport so I wasn't able to be there (which sucks since I had a couple questions I really would have liked to run by them). Does anyone have a copy of the transcript available that I could read over?

@TeMPO: You could've left your questions in the news post here in hopes someone would ask them for you.

Unfortunately, the answers were told on live cam and was not recorded. Both interviewees were shirtless, and Edmund's wife came in the shot covered in Joker makeup. There was some fun with lag (and the host eating a bagel). They jokingly discussed a Gish MMO (using facebook as a method of play). Oh, and Edmund drew Gish and Super Meat Boy...erm...doing things on a bed, as per a request on the chat. Anyways, here are some info tidbits I remember.

They started development in January (that's when they got the dev kit). At the moment it is on Wii only, but the programmer does have an Xbox360 dev kit (and a PS3 dev kit coming). In terms of development, they liked the Wii, despite it being "pretty much a graphics card from 1999, it has NO SHADERS." Wii dev kits are about a fifth the cost of the others, and the libraries are pretty good. They said not to go to college (Edmund found that he could make money without "that piece of paper" and witnessed a crappy 3D artist get a degree from a crappy animation. Tommy simply failed classes in programming, but he said don't go for it if you are wanting to develop games). Super Meat Boy was originated from a sketch of a creature called the Meat Ninja. They can get up to 15k on sponsorship with a flash game, but they LOVE developing outside of flash for limits reasons. There was talk of an exporter of sorts (not sure if Tommy developed it or if it was from something else) for flash games, but it was hard to maintain thought during the programming discussion. Tommy said XNA stinks because it uses C#, and he says avoid Visual Basic and Java (he specifically said that he'd personally find and punch you in the face if you did Java). They said the game will use the balance board and will require the juggling of 4 Wii Remotes to move through the menu ( is it a joke? We'll find out ). They are working currently on the third world: a hospital filled with fetuses, near Dr. Fetus's lair. Ed has a list of ideas for the game's development, one of which was AIDS. No hints on the other secret characters, nor much discussion on his other developed games. Edmund will be selling his wife-created plushies of Gish, Spewer, and other characters soon! They believe that Jonathon Blow is one of the richest indie devs right now, and Tommy's favorite games include Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Zelda. Still deciding on whether or not they will include original Super Meat Boy levels in it. No release date mentioned, but I expect it will be done by year end.

When I left, it looked like Tommy was going to prove that he could beat Battletoads live via feed, but that was after the host said the show was officially over.

We have an interview with Team Meat coming soon. Should be a good one.

They had a couple clips over on Joystiq of some of the chat, but mainly just joking around. I was kinda wanting to know if they talked about what the different unlockable characters are going to bring in terms of gameplay or if they are just there for aesthetics.
