It is possible with the two screens but is nintendo likely to do it since the ds era is over and the 3ds era is over they could revamp their sales one more time
They should have retail downloadable versions of DS games for 3DS. I thought they should've done that with Pokemon B2/W2. As for Wii U, I think it would be wiser to make a "3DS player"; kind of like the Super Game Boy or the GBA player.
I think nintendo had intentions to do it thats another reason why theres two screens and the bottom ones touch screen nintendo would be very smart to do this

well i download all my 3ds games so how would nintendo let me send my games over or would nintendo screw me over and make me buy physical copies of each game they need to just release each game on e shop system of choice for example luigis mansion dark moon it could cost 59.99 on wii u and one 3ds 39.99 people would still buy both systems 3ds for 3d feature and price and wii u for tv and gamepad function then again they could do cloud gaming like you make an account for all your downloaded content then you can take it to any system you choose also maybe nintendo should release a 3d gamepad sold seperately dony has already made a 3d playstation display tv nintendo is 2 steps forward and 3 steps back
Is it 2025 yet? Man, I was just thinking about this feeling a need to have DS retail titles downloaded and all in a folder on my 3DS instead of having DS cartridges scattered between my house, my parents house, my younger brother's possession and in storage boxes I have no idea where exactly lol. I guess I can only dream and go back to playing today's games :S
If I got a dollar for every time this was suggested on this website, I'd be able to afford a Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One, and every game available on them as of 12/29/13 at 12:30 A.M.
Never say never!
There were Gameboyplayer "upgrades" for SNES and GC. I Mean there was one for GC and for Wii none. According To my "genious" rule there should be one coming in the late lifecircle of Wii u.

There were also Game Boy adapters for NES and N64, but Nintendo only made those for themselves (they sued someone who tried to make an unlicensed retail GB clone for the NES, though). I've read about the NES one and I have seen the N64 device. Either that or Nintendo themselves was using a bunch of Chinese adapters (I saw the cart label and it wasn't in English, probably not Japanese as I think even in Japan Nintendo always gave their hardware English names) for this Pokemon tournament. (I got pwned by some 8-year-old so I didn't win the prize of challenging Team Nintendo on the TVs, using one of the N64s they had sitting it boxes with said mystery cart. )
Nintendo probably broke the cycle on the DS/Wii generation. I've heard rumors that by then Nintendo was using their own private emulator as a means of testing games without having to spend all day on a portable.
seriously, we'd have to get GBA games first and Nintendo doesn't want to put GBA on VC for some reason so I doubt DS will ever happen anytime this gen.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
