THE WII IS HARD TO KILL
First, allow me to preface this little story with a fact about my car — which is thankfully, no longer true: My car was a total MESS! It looked as though I was renting it to Cody Lambert from the 90s TV show "Step by Step." Remember that show? No? Well, he was the homeless nephew of Patrick Duffy "Beer"'s character. Point is, "Hoarders" wanted to do a TV special on it but I exorcised the demons from that fuhrer all too soon.

Anyway, at the time I was cleaning the car, I noticed I had left my original Wii (GCN compatible; GC ports) under a pile of junk on the floorboard in the backseat of the car. It was an abandoned Wii that I had found — still with its essential cables and controllers but in terrible shape (scuffs, twisted & exposed cable wire) — ready for the trash and having never been tested. This specific Wii went through the worst phase of irony, however, as I eventually neglected it as well.

BUT

The amazing thing is, I had left it in the car, exposed to the freezing cold nights of East Coast winters and the equally brutal life-sapping humidity of its summers for not 1 but 2 (TWO) freaking YEARS! I never tested it, mind you, when I first got it and had all but forgotten about it down the road. When I did finally nonchalantly test it, I was even more amazed that IT. STILL. WORKED! Power light went on, game played effortlessly and now I'm thinking, Satan or whatever demonic force from the "Christine" car had taken refuge in this thing.

And now... it sits in a pile of dust, neglected once again, as I enjoy the 3DS.

I guess that pile of junk that on was top of it protected it from the humidity. Surprised about the cold, though.

I managed to drop my Dreamcast down a flight of stairs once and it landed in a puddle. I for sure thought it was done and was very angry cause it was only couple of months old. Took it up stairs, dried it off and she still works like a charm today.

I think consoles are a lot more durable than what people suspect. Still would just rather avoid finding out though.

well once I tripped in my GC controller's cable and my Wii dropped from 0.7M and it broke beyond repair....
while my Gamecube was dropped, kicked and jumped(all against my will) and it only gave away when the lens got water in them(due to humid air and pressure changes, because I used to take it with me when I went to the beach, to play if it was raining)

Either the original Xbox or the 360 is bulletproof, according to my "friend" who is an Xbox nerd. He's the same dude that told me my dreams are pointless and I shouldn't work for Nintendo, because Nintendo is dying, so I wouldn't take him seriously.

I've been trying to find a clip from Mind of Mencia where one of Mencia's costars smashes a N64 with a hammer--or at least tries to. It took him at least 3 whacks before he made a dent.

I think the Gamcube is more durable.

My brother once fell on top of our GameCube. Right in the corner.

Nothing happened to it, but my brother had this lovely GameCube-shaped super bruise in his back for quite some time.

I think your friend is referring to something about a guy in England (I think it was) walked in to his house being robbed and he grabbed his Xbox, held it up and the robber shot a 9mm at him. The Xbox deflected the bullet.
