I know over in the good old US of A you can't pre order a Wii U anywhere and looks like there is only going to be a handful available to buy on release. It has been somewhat a completely different story over here in the UK. You could pre order order a Wii U anywhere. However over the past week I have noticed that some stores have stopped taking pre orders for Wii U console and some stores only sell as part of a bundle.
I was lucky to get my ZombiU Premium Pack for £299 instead of its RRP at £350. The ZombiU pack only seems to be available with the most expensive retailers now. Zavvi have sold out Amazon have sold out and Play.com has sold out.
The Premium packs are available to pre order still but only at the most expensive retailers. Toys R Us look like they have sold out of there launch day ZombiU and Basic pack as it says on there website instock 14th December. Where they still have the Premium pack available.
So what do you think? Will the Wii U sell out here in the UK at launch or will there be plenty available to buy come launch on the 30th November?
i pre orded mine from game(zombiu pack) i know there still takeing preorders, only on the premium packs though,game are surposed to be partners with nintendo for the wii u so they said?
Mine is pre ordered from Game (was gamestation but now they've merged and the shop has been rebranded as game). Due to work commitments on Friday 30th I'm really going to struggle to collect it that day.
Was planning to go first thing on the saturday morning but I'm worried if I don't collect it on Friday they might give mine to someone else so I'm toying with the idea of going to the Midnight Launch to make sure I get it.
No need to worry about game giving yours away,im pretty sure that they will save it for you,wouldnt hurt to ring a few days before just to make sure,the game near me doesnt know if there doing a midnight launch coz they havent had that many pre orders!!!

Thinking about it I did a similar thing when I pre ordered my Wii and PS2 (back in the day) so it really shouldn't be an issue collecting it on the Saturday
So glad consoles launch on a Friday in the UK, I'd hate to get it on a Sunday like they do in the USA knowing you have to go back to work / school the next day, at least we get the full weekend to enjoy it 😀
Yeah friday is much better, ive only got the ps3 on launch,one of my friends got the wii on launtch day and they were sold out every where in the uk so i sure we will be ok
Yeah the Wii was like gold dust for the first 12 months or so, I don't think the Wii U will sell in quite such good numbers but it was always a day one buy for me so pre ordering was a must.
I dont think the wii u will be as mad as the wii,the manager at my game keeps telling me not to worry,coz i pre orded one i will deffo get one,and there still takin pre orders.
Yeah hopefully,its not been that mad here in the uk, game and hmv are still takin orders,the basic pack has sold out but the premium pack still available
