Topic: Wii U First Update

Hello all,

I have a first day Wii U, however did not have the opportunity to unbox it yet. But will do it soon.

But my fear is the initial update. If my internet connection fails on the process, the console will brick? Or only with a power cut (black out)?

Thank you very much,
Allan

It will brick only if the power is cut. If your internet fails, you just have to retry basically.

I have read on NintendoLife that this update can be done in background while I play a game. How can I do that?

I believe that while the update is downloading there is a button that says "Start Software" or something so you can play while it downloads. That's how it is for game updates anyways, I can't exactly remember how it works for the system update.

I wasn't able to do that.

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

[/quote]I believe the first update you really have to wait and will be unable to play a game. When you get a "game" update that's when you can use that background update dowaoding feature
