I know, right? Life doesn't have an easy button, so why should my very-realistic-and-life-like video games have one? It makes no logical sense at all!

Don't understand why people hate these items so much.

A) It's optional.
B) Not everyone has the patience to keep repeating a difficult level, section or boss fight.
C) It only shows up if you continue to die, so maybe you DO actually need it.

I kinda wish there was something like this in older games like Lost Levels.

The horrible thing is that you can still die while using that suit.

It should bounce you back to safety if you fall from a platform or on lava.

Yes clearly this item is worse than cancer, poverty and world hunger combined. Nintendo has absolutely over stepped their boundaries and must be brought down.

But no really, you could just I dont know, not use it since it's completely optional? I think you're being a bit of an elitist here. Games are meant to be fun. If you want to play them seriously, you don't have to use it but at the end of the day, a game is just what it is. A Game. And again, games are meant to be fun. So don't take it so seriously. Nintendos main audience is and almost always has been kids. Why are you so shocked this is a thing?

God forbid someone actually, I don't know…. learns to be good at the game. Society has gotten to a point where being skilled in a game has become a detriment and burden.

There is still no requirement for players to use the White Tanooki suit.

You can still do that by ignoring the item?

So the White Tanooki Suit is bad, but the Luigi box in NSMBU, where a CPU does the level FOR YOU is okay? Get your priorities straight?

Oh god, don't get me started on that. Untitled The more mainstream video games have gotten, the more dumbed down they get.

As I said before, if you suck in the game, you should die and lose and just go watch TV or something because video games clearly aren't for you. This type of crap is ridiculous.

1. Not every game has this.
2. There are still tough as nails games on the market.
3. You are ranting about something that is entirely optional.
4. Not every old game was hard. That is a myth and it was never true. Don't believe me? I can list some easy NES games.
5. These features have nothing to do with society in general.
6. They are optional
7. You have the option to not use them
8. They are not a requirement
9. You are not required to use them
10. You can ignore them

Never said they did, but game developers have definitely dumbed down games to cater to casual gamers and the horrible Tanooki god suit has become a trend in all the new games.

I disagree. Society now teaches kids that being mediocre still deserves an award. Kids these days are incredibly insecure and sensitive.

and I don't care if it's optional. As I said, it shouldn't be an option period. If you suck, you should lose or stick to watching cartoons.

We can only hope and pray that Fire Emblem doesn't remove the "Classic Mode" in future games.

Is that why you have won a bunch of awards?

Seriously, you could not be more wrong.

Then don't buy games if you don't like that optional mode that you're not required to do.

I never said every game was hard.

You sure do imply it though.

As opposed to participation awards 20 years ago?

Well, seeing as how you apparently get the option, maybe you should consider watching cartoons. Meanwhile I'll continue to play my games

Yes, because having easy modes for many years somehow leads to the removal of harder modes. Now you're really pulling at strings here

Explain.

Today's society rewards children regardless if they win or lose. Your kid gets put on a sports team and regardless of how bad they are, they end up getting a trophy or metal. I don't believe in that garbage. Children these days don't know how to cope with losing and will end up with a well deserved reality check when they're out in the real world. I know that's not the same as video games but this is all pandering to this sensitive generation.

And instead you want to kick them in the sand and tell them they suck?

I will teach my son that you can't win at everything. You are right in that aspect. In regards to your problem with this crap. Get the eff over it. This is our current society. Nintendo doesn't give a damn about what you think. You can vent, complain, bitch, whatever but the consensus of the people in this particular thread is that it's OPTIONAL. Nintendo will continue to make games with an easy escape solution, while those who can beat it without training wheels will continue playing like the pros we are.

And then. These games that have the white tanuki suit actually reward you with a 100% completion star for not using it.

So, they do reward you for not being mediocre.
