Topic: Smash Bros. and Mario Kart Online Play

So, is there a reason why you can't have four players from one local machine play online together on Mario Kart? Or why you can't do 8 players online in Smash? I have a big family and it would be a lot fun to be able to incorporate more into the action...

The lag would be so unbearable the game would be unplayable, methinks.

For smash - i think they should add that option for private lobbies.
For mk8 - im sure it deals with processing power. This would cause a severely crippled framerate, not lag.
