Sorry for the name; I honestly can't think of a good one.
Anyway, we all have mixed feelings for the NSMB Series. Some love it, some hate it, and a lot of us are somewhere in the middle. NSMBU has been out for a while now, and those with Wii U's may be disappointed in the graphical quality. Another thing is the repetitiveness of each title in this "New" series.
I got to thinking, what if Wayforward either made or contributed to a NSMB game?
Wayforward is already well known for their gorgeous hand drawn visuals, and have experience with Wii U (Mighty Switch Force HD looks just as good as NSMBU, if not better).
Wayforward also has some very creative ideas that they have executed well, with some shining examples being Shantae and the Mighty series.
If Wayforward contributed to the next NSMB, they could make it feel new again. The graphics and animations could be beautifully redrawn, new enemies created, and a nice change of scenery.
Who else agrees with me here, or would like to see a different company take on the challenge?

No one should make NSMB. Let it go and just give us more original Mario's. If Wayforward made a Mario game that'd be awesome if it had their hand drawn visuals (and Patricia Wagon as a playable character for some reason!) but I'd like it to be their own thing rather than another NSMB game. Changing up the art style wouldn't really make it a NSMB game anymore.
@Retro Yeah that's true. Still, if Nintendo was making a new one, I'd love for them to play a part in it!
Patricia Wagon wouldnt really fit though, because she can shoot and couldn't really "switch".

No. Wayforward, when it comes to other properties, try their darndest to make the game very close to the source material. See Contra 4 or any of their other licenses they've worked with. If they were to work with NSMB, it would turn out pretty much the same as it is already.
Besides, I've found NSMBU to be the one that finally got it right. It did something that made it much better that the other games ignored, and that was in being much more difficult. Not many people have played it, but I haven't found many, or even any, that honestly think lowly of it. The 3DS and Wii ones, on the other hand...
Not really. As someone said, there shouldn't be another New Super Mario Bros game, there should just instead be another 2D Mario game with a different title.
And as for the graphics style, why them? GoodFeel came up with a great style in Wario Land Shake It and Kirby's Epic Yarn, Retro Studios came up with the brilliant graphics from Donkey Kong Country Returns and Ubisoft came up with those in Rayman Origins and Legends. Why WayForward and not one of those just as capable studios?

No. Let Mario have some time off at least when it comes to 2D platforming.

im sorry but i would get scared if anotrher company touchs mario.. i
I agree with what moomoo wrote.. I was pleasantly surprised at the difficulty level of the game and love the super mario world like map feel as well .. I would prefer wayforward to do an original IP if time and money permits them to do one... License games seem to be their bread winner which I understand from a financial standpoint...
Anyway, If retro and wayforward get a chance to create their own IP that would be an instant buy for me
