There are retailers dropping the Wii U Basic Set left and right. If Nintendo scraps the Basic Set, which I think they should, they can maybe consider lowering the price of the Deluxe Set to $300 as well. That would be a hundred bucks less than the PS4, and two hundred bucks less then the XB1! What do you guys think?

Yes. I think they should dump the basic and drop the price of the deluxe to $249, which was Wii's launch price. A big positive would be that it would save a lot retailers shelf space.
@LUIGITORNADO Wow, $249? That's a pretty big drop! I don't think there would be much room for profit for Nintendo, don't you think? And you mention it was the Wii's launch price. The Wii was probably a lot less expensive in terms of manufacturing costs, but I wouldn't know.
I agree they should scrap it and offer the deluxe set in both white and black. Honestly I never saw the point of the basic set to begin with. The price difference between the basic and deluxe was so obvious which one was the better deal of the two and I think that is what made it flop so to speak. Any smart person buying a Wii U would choose the deluxe set over the basic.

No personally I think they should make the RRP for the basic £150 and included Nintendo Lands or a Mario game. People will then give the Wii U a chance buy it play whats on offer at the moment. Company's like EA will see that the console is now selling well and release games for it.
They should release an official hard drive, because I know the majority of consumers see the Wii U as a bad deal because "OMG, I can get a ps3 with 300GB instead of a WiiU with only 8 or 32GB!" The average consumer isn't aware that you can plug an external hard drive in it...
