I personally feel that there aren't enough games in it right now. I'd wait till another big games comes out, then get it. I got one at launch, but getting it that soon was a mistake. But you also are interested in more games that are out right now, so you might want to get one now.

I think we're past the point where "waiting for more games" is a good answer to this question. In terms of quality and variety the Wii U has been on-par with the 3DS for a few months now. And the 3DS has been worthwhile since mid-2012 IMO. Especially if we take into account the content on the way for the Wii U, hard to argue that people should wait for more content.

Was true at launch, in 2013 and early 2014, isn't at all true now.

I got mine in April 2013. Even back then I had plenty to play. Granted, i had been out of the gaming scene for quite a while, so pretty much everything looked and felt fresh to me. Indy games have kept me occupied between releases.

Imo, someone could easily rack up 300-400 hours combined on 3d world, super smash and mk8....which justifies the purchase

For anyone on the fence, I would tell them that MK8 , Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U, DK: Tropical Freeze, Captain Toad and Bayonetta easily justify purchasing a Wii U. Especially MK8 and Bayonetta. I'm not a Smash player, but that is obviously another noteworthy exclusive.

There are not a ton of games on the way for 2015, but Zelda, Star Fox and Splatoon are 3 more exclusives that should be fantastic.

I wanted to share this anecdote, too. I was at my local gamestop and 3 teenagers that work there were whining about current gen gaming. One said that he will not play any game that is less than 2 months old "because they are all so buggy." Guess they were not talking about Wii U; I have not experienced any issues with gameplay glitches with Wii U games.
