Recently AngryJoe put up a video about Mario Party 10. The problem is he got copyright flagged for it. Now he complains that He can't make any money off Nintendo videos. On the one hand, people are still complaining about Nintendo flagging videos for copyright. On the other hand people are complaining about AngryJoe saying he should've known better. The problem is, neither side seems to see the fault for both Nintendo or AJ. In the end, they're both wrong. Nintendo for still going copyright trigger-happy on videos (I understand there's the creators program but still) and AJ for knowing Nintendo would flag his video, yet he did it anyway. Joe should've known Nintendo was going to monitize the video, and he must've known about Nintendo's creators program which actually ALLOWS him to make money off his videos.
But, people just ignore that because they're too loyal to either Nintendo or AJ. And there in-lies the problem, without looking at both sides, We get nowhere. Gamers are skipping logic and analysis and just blindly siding with their favorite person. Me? I'm torn in the middle road, but mostly indifferent because I don't even make YouTube videos anymore. To really understand a situation, we need to look at both sides of the equation rather than just pointing fingers at eachother.
It's the internet. NL is one of my favorite online communities because there seems to be a lot more balance of opinions. Everyone has the things they love and hate about Nintendo, and almost no one makes assumptions that you are on one of two sides (GameFAQs is really bad about this)
