I'd rather not have a console like that. It wouldn't feel like you're actually playing the game if you're not physically doing anything.

This is what I was thinking; Also, wouldn't that limit their ability to give you a challenge if you can just 'magically' maneuver yourself through obstacles? (Ex: in some new mario side scroller there is a line of pirahna plants both above and below the next part of the stage and you have to time jumping on moving platforms to get through there...why waste your time waiting for them to be in the right position if you can just move yourself with your mind?)

It's an interesting idea though either way(and a little scary like others pointed out XD); I've been thinking of what we could possibly see in future gens of gaming.

Do you have a lot of dreams about game consoles?

Well that's a very strange dream right there. My diagnosis is that you should lay off the games for a little while,

You wouldn't be able to do that; the game would still have rules. You just wouldn't be doing anything physically to move Mario. You want him to jump? Imagine him jumping. Or think "jump". Want him to duck? Same deal. With the scrolling shooter in my dream, the ship would follow a path you imagined for it.

I guess it would still feel wrong in a sense and a bit easier than physically playing it, ha. Something just feels right about physical controls.

Can u imagine the forum threads : Help..my brain wont connect! , The console has taken over my mother , should i contact customer support? , Each time i connect i levitate my gran! ....and How many GHz is your brain running at? lol

Does that mean if you unplugged your console while your mother was playing it would brick her brain. Curious. 😈

Most of the mind controlled solutions being developed at the moment are geared toward more practical applications, like helping autistic children or others with neurological problems. There is even one I read about that is being used to train prisoners not to panic or resort to violence when faced with adverse conditions.

There are some fun ones though:

And some of the implications of such technology are quite sinister:

But overall, I think these kinds of technology(s) are still way to young for Nintendo to be in a position to take advantage of. Before that happens, we'd probably have to see some examples of mind-control devices/software on the consumer market that exhibit mainstream interest.

Personaly, I think its a pretty bad idea, and what about relfex reactions that skip thinking, might that aspect run into some trouble, and what about stratigizing? How do I think about what do with out doing it? And how do I keep from random thoughts from making me jump off a ledge?
