Topic: Is DMZ safe?

I wasn't able to play Mario Kart 8 online nntil I enabled DMZ since it was one of the troubleshooting steps on Wii U support. After doing some research I find out it is not completely safe due to firewall stuff?
So.. is it okay if I use it with my Wii U? I'm afraid it'll get a virus or something. Also is it safe while doing purchases or downloading anything?
Any response is appreciated.
Thanks

Yeah, I wansn't familiar with this term before. DMZ means: "Demilitarized Zone" and it basically allows your device to go through firewall restrictions to go through more "ports". That's why online worked much better for me. So technically, it's less safe so that's why I want to be sure if any Wii U will work fine with this enabled. It isn't anything out of this world, you just press a button on your router settings.

Oh, well anyways chances are you're fine....normal viruses and all that won't be able to work on the Wii U anyways. It would have to be built specifically for the system for the virus to work there.
