@Gryffin : I managed to find two Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Wii U bundles some months after the Switch was released, and I transferred everything to a fresh console just before the Wii Shop Channel was terminated.
I was also lucky enough to find a brand new Super Mario Maker Wii U bundle for only AU$99 in late 2018 or early 2019.
So, of the 13 million or so Wii Us that were sold, four of them happen to be mine.
@gcunit that's awesome. You have much gaming to look forward to for decades to come.
Yeh, that was the idea really. Years from now, those who were there will remember the 1990s and 2000-15 as the golden age where games expanded in graphics, scope and mechanics, but the software was all on the physical media when you bought it, no patches, no DLC, no streaming. So I decided to commit hard to that era of games, and if you've got the games... you're gonna want the hardware to play them.
Oh, and I forgot to mention:
PS2 slim x 3
PS Vita x 3 or 4
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
So it happened a few years ago. I don't remember why exactly I bought a New 2DS when I had a mostly-perfectly functioning 3DS XL, but it turned out to be a VERY fortunate decision when, some time later, the older one's battery kind of blew up (yes, I had already transferred all my data).
@Gryffin : Not particularly, but looking back, I do regret not buying extra hardware (though at the time, I wouldn’t have had the money, and nowadays, so much is prohibitively expensive).
