@DefHalan:
Marvel and DC have done crossovers before:
Untitled

DC and TT Games are owned by Warner Entertainment, a rival entertainment company to Disney, but it hasn't stopped LEGO Marvel/Star Wars games. Disney Infinity was really the only thing stopping those licenses from coming to LD, and as Disney is done with game publishing I think they will jump at a chance to have someone else do all the work, it'll be money for nothing. Of course I could be wrong...

So...if you wanted to get those figurines, now would probably be a good time to do so, because they're probably going to skyrocket in price on Ebay in the future.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

@shaneoh: I think a licensing deal like that would be more complicated than the licensing deals made for Roger Rabbit

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalan:
LEGO Marvel Superheroes (2013) and LEGO Marvel Avengers (2016) were released after Disney acquired Marvel, I don't think it's going to be too much trouble, particularly as they even managed to obtain licensing for Portal 2 (the only franchise in LD to not have an existing LEGO set) and Doctor Who. Disney has an existing relationship with both LEGO and WB/TT Games, so they will not need new moulds (one of the reasons we didn't see a Legend of Zelda LEGO set was because it required too many new pieces) and game assets already exist from current games. It is very doable. If there was going to be a licensing issue, the LEGO Marvel and Force Awakens games wouldn't have been made.

Now LD and any Nintendo franchise, that isn't going to happen any time soon.

@shaneoh: i don't think Disney would like it if their IP was in the same game as their competitors. That is the thing about competitors, they tend to want to out do each other rather than work together. I am not saying it is impossible but it would be difficult.

@DefHalan:
Oh I agree about them trying to outdo each other, it's why it'll be a cold day in hell before we see a DC-Marvel crossover movie (a relief for me), but that's why I think that Marvel/SW appearing in LD is a likelihood. Disney appears to be leaving the videogame and Toys-to-life market, which means that they aren't competing with anyone in that area, the developers who make any future Disney games will be the ones competing with other devs, Disney will just need to sit back and rake in all the licensing money. As far as Toys-to-Life we have LD, Amiibo and Skylanders, and the only one of the three that I really feel fits Disney's IPs is LD.

Those kind of cross overs wont happen anymore, Dan Didio is peed with Marvel (he was asked at a comic panel by a fan if they would be willing to do another DC-Marvel crossover) as they were undermining DC apparently as Marvel were doing stuff like offering limited edition stocks to comic retailers if they destroyed DC stock and other silly games like that. There could be another one but it will have to be when fences are mended or with high up management changes.

@jump:

Well I'm not going to pretend to have read any of the crossovers (I just know that they happened) or know anything about the destroying rival comics part (which sounds pretty petty), but as TT Games and DC Comics are different parts of Time Warner, I don't believe it would have any huge impact on the possibility of Marvel appearing in LD.

With some more information about the Cancelling of Disney infinity, it seems like over production of figures could have been added to the problem... makes me think of the comment Disney made about amiibo. How they would never be caught not making enough figures at a new release... I think that back fired on them a bit.

Every one of the news sites that reported 'Avalanche Studios Shut Down, Disney Infinity & Just Cause Cancelled,' is a blight upon journalism.
