Well, we still need about 30 to complete the whole set of characters (just the basic ones, not the crystal or FX). We have a huge mix across all the different games. I still need several of the Star Wars characters and all the Inside Out characters along with some miscellaneous ones. I tend to wait for a good sale or used...I try to never pay full retail price, but today was an exception. The buy 2 get 3 free sale at Gamestop has been my friend lately. I have gotten a huge jump on our collection with this sale. Just hard to find a store with a good supply of used characters.

@scubydo: Same. I don't care about Crystal and I actually don't like the FX ones, the lightsaber is pretty dark when not lit, and most of the time they aren't lit. I think I have all the Force Awakens figures, then a few pre-quel and a few rebel characters. I have most of the original trilogy characters. Haven't gotten any Inside Out and have a few other characters. I also need Ultron lol

Someone tried the new Marvel playset ?

I dont have alot of Marvel fig.. So did it work spending on the playset plus a few fig Marvel 3.0 ?

The more I read about Battlegrounds the more I want to play it. 4-player local multiplayer sounds like it could be a lot of fun.

@DefHalan: Yeah, same here. An SSB-like with some Marvel Char seems really fun.

IDK if its worth to buy the playset + a few figs for that (I have only 3 marvel fig for now)

DefHalan

@GabSt: they do this thing where if you are playing multiplayer, they have a free character that you can play, and it changes over time. I don't know if it is weekly or daily but it lets you try out characters and what not lol. So far if you want Multiplayer action, it seems worth it, espcially since you can find it on sale this week for $20 instead of the usual $30 it will be

@DefHalan: This thing its not only on the free version, PC and iOS/Android ? Or its exclusives to this playset ?

Sadly not on amazon CA, I should check in store maybe

@GabSt: I am confused are we talking about the Battlegrounds Playset multiplayer or something else?

That's a shame, the toybox mode sounded great but fudge buying all those figures.

@DefHalan:
Too bad.
There was a hint of a new Star Wars play set coming and I was hoping for SW Rebels.
I have to admit that many of the playsets (especially 2.0) were mediocre. 3.0 was a big leap.

Interesting to think about what it means for Nintendo. I wonder if the whole toys 2 life thing will see it as a harbinger of doom and pull out.

DefHalan

@aaronsullivan: That is a really good question. I wonder if it further discourages Nintendo to make a game fully based on amiibo too, like many people have wanted.

Not cool for fans of Infinity but great news about Disney moving exclusively to a licensing model. They stated in the past they're only interested in the super casual market, but they had so many great IP tied up. Hopefully this means we can get some good Marvel games!

Peach64

DefHalan

@Peach64: they have always been licensing out their IP, so it probably won't lead to many "new" licensing deals, but maybe movies will get more tie-in games rather than just getting Toy Box figures/playsets. We will see what happens

I wonder if I should sell all my Disney Infinity stuff. My Wife probably won't want to, but I don't think they will increase in value... I don't know, this is just such a shock

If LEGO Dimensions continues to be a thing, I have a feeling we may see SW characters in LD eventually. Darth Vader with Doctor Who, yes please.

I'm belligerent, you were warned.

@shaneoh: That is a very good point. I was hoping to avoid LEGO dimensions, though.

@DefHalan: On the plus side, amiibo hasn't ever relied on the same sales model... and there may be more shelf space for amiibo and NX opening up.

@shaneoh: I find that unlikely, mainly because of Marvel and DC but that doesn't completely close the doors on Star Wars.

Seriously screw Disney for coming to this decision. They have been angling to drop out of making games for years, and the moment their latest and last real money-maker died down they just hit the 'Shut It All Down' button and basically just gave up. They're one of the biggest and wealthiest international companies in the world, with a war chest of intellectual property that dwarfs even Nintendo's and they just give up after suffering a hit. A hit which tomorrow's profits that they'll receive from the attendees at their various theme parks will more than cover.

Sure all that we care about really is that there are plenty of Star Wars games on the horizon and this shouldn't affect Kingdom Hearts 3 in any way, and every cloud has a silver lining I guess as they'll probably increase the farming out of their IPs, stating with Lego Dimensions I'd have thought, but Disney's attitude to the videogame industry has been baffling for a long time now. Warner Bros for one make bank with their film-based franchises, heaven only knows the money that would be made if Disney actually gave a damn and made more than cash grabs from D list developers.

Videogames man. Good luck to the Infinity folks at finding employment.
