Topic: Any hard drive issues?

I've heard that some people are having problems with their external hard drives being unable to draw enough power (as the Nintendo Direct said in Japan, and as NOA says here in point #8
[http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_external_storage.jsp?menu=general_info&submenu=wup-external-usb-storage]).
Did anyone here have any problems?

Also, anyone who hooked up an external hard drive, what kind of hard drive did you use? 2.5"? 3.5"? USB powered or wall powered? I'm a little worried because mine draws power from the USB.

P.S. I checked the first couple pages and didn't see another thread like this, so hopefully it's not a duplicate.

Everyone should know from Nintendo's press release that they recommend a AC powered HD or one with 2 USB plugs for easier power consumption.

I had the hard drive before Nintendo said that one week before the Wii U came out (it's an old laptop HDD that I put in an enclosure about a year ago). Also, from the looks of the video (the Japanese video; I haven't seen any western equivalents), they recommend not using one with two USB plugs. The only ones they recommend are wall powered.

Apparently Eurogamer had problems with 3 USB powered hard drives not working. They did find that a USB powered SSD worked fine though.
