I'm gonna agree with KKSlider on this one; give me something that plays good before it looks good. While I'm all for very pretty-looking video games, the moment one starts running bad is the second where my experience becomes tainted, if only slightly.

I do agree, but my point was more that having a decent art style is far more important, worthwhile and is usually just a better idea unless you have an obsession with burning money. It's why in 10 or so years, No More Heroes, Muramasa and Rhythm Heaven Fever will likely be better looking than Crysis.
All 1st Party Wii U games have been 60FPS so far, I expect this trend to continue. That said as a PC gamer Fps doesn't bother me in the slightest as long as its consistant.
It's 2014, all AAA developers should aim for 60fps. Any less apart from turn-based RPGs and other slow-paced games is frankly embarrassing.
If you aim for 60fps you have to strip back HEAVILY on scale, as 30fps saves dat precious CPU power for stuff such as character animations, weather stimulation, AI and texture streaming, not just resolution as some people think
Only if the game actually needs a 60fps do I really want it, otherwise 30fps is absolutely fine. Say there was an Animal Crossing for Wii U. There would be no need for a high frame rate, since the player wouldn't need for visual information to be presented to them so quickly. The console's capabilities could be put toward making the game look nicer. On the other hand, Smash 4, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart benefit from a high frame rate, since the player has need for information quickly being presented to them.

Not Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker HD which are 30fps
AC4 averages 20fps.....
Thanks for the correction. Weird I forgot about Pikmin when its my favorate Wii U game to date, good example of a game that didnt need 1080p 60fps even though it would have looked nice. I wasn't actually counting Zelda on purpose since its an HD upscale but your right to point it out also.
AC4 was horrible on land but sea battles looked and felt great, I traded it after a week due to boredom but it truley was poorly optimised.
