I haven't bought a VC (or WiiWare game, for that matter) in quite some time. It's not because I'm disinterested in them; I'm trying to avoid any new purchases until I get the games I currently have finished up.....that and when I get some more moniez in mah pocket! D:

@WaveBoy - Ghosts n Goblins is def one of the toughest games of all time. To fully complete it, you have to go through it twice in one setting! Best of Luck!

I bought Super Star Wars quite recently. Should get more points for the sequels soon, as I've already completed it.

Even on the easy setting, the game was one of the hardest ones I've played. There were some bosses like Kalmar Boss Monster (or something. You know, the boss in Cantina) that kept killing me all the time, because it was impossible to always dodge their attacks. I defeated those guys by getting enough gun upgrades and repeatedly shooting them, so that I'd exhaust their lifebars before they killed me. The Game Over screen became a familiar sight for me, as I ran out of continues all the time.

But even though it often felt unbearably hard, it was a true gem! They adapted all the key scenes from the movie pretty well, and added many new things too: I really enjoyed all the wacky bosses that appeared out of nowhere :).

Ya i just figured that out when i finally ended up beating it the other day. :p
The final boss battle was pretty mesmorizing for me....It was a combination of the Boss himself and beautiful hight top castle-esque environement, plus the trippy control change during the battle. He was pretty easy though! B-) But now I have to plow through it again!? Aghhh! What a tease this torturous game is. lol Those flying Red gargoyle demon's random and incredibly annoying flying patterns usually get me every time! Most annoying videogame baddie of all time if you ask me.lol

Anyways, did Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts do the same thing regarding beating it twice? I only finished that one once, and once was enough, since it was pretty rock-hard as well. :p

Just checked my Memory Card on Backloggery, and was somewhat surprised to see the last VC games I got were Bomberman Hero and Pokemon Puzzle League last March.

So no, I guess I haven't really gotten anymore. And honestly, there's only one or two left that I actually would get.

Just beat Ghost 'n goblins for the 2nd time to get the true ending. Man....I thought i was going to face up against a different final boss. But no, instead you just have to take down the same Boss who is laughably easy as it is. This time though the princess runs towards you and kisses you, while some bodacious text scrolls down the screen and Kablah! That's it! :p

A decent fun-ish experience, but Super Ghosts 'n Goblins owns the Arcade original without a doubt.

Well, then it's safe to say that they're not even worth finishing twice if there's just some bare bones teeny weeny little change to the ending. The first time trying to finish the game was a major chore in bogus brutality frustration. The 2nd tiem i schooled through it Mike Tyson style. B-) LIke I said, I expected some crazier finall boss the 2nd time around, but Capcom copped out!

Finishing Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts once was enough for me! Now it's time to revisit Castlevania :D And then go head to head witht he spooky rollercoaster ride that is Ju-On:The Grudge. B-) I'm still in the Halloween horror gaming groovey' since my October got a little fudged up with the lack of a working TV. :p

I've had like 600 points collecting dust for months now, while I wait to see if anything I want to download is released. It's been so long, I forgot I had those points! I was burning a few minutes a couple of weeks ago by going to check out the VC top 20. When I saw how many points I had, I decided to try something: Download a game I already have on NES, for the sake of comparison. I downloaded Final Fantasy, and it looks much crisper and more vibrant playing it on Wii! Oh, this isn't a VC drought. This is VC Death Valley!!!

So which game ususally gets the greater nod around here, Ristar or Dynomite Heady? I also really need_ to get on Gunstar Heroes. The VC, so far for me has mainly been the NES. Plus I'm a bit behind with the SNES/GEN VC, because it seems like most of you guys here have pretty much played it all or want to play that is.

And I'm just itchin for more NES Classics, but i doubt we'll be getting anymore. Mega Man 6 seems like the next obvious release whenever that will be, maybe in a million years if we're lucky. Thanks Capcom! ;)

Personally I liked Ristar a little better. Dynamite Heady can get really frustrating towards the end.
It's still a good game though. Both are excellent choices.
Oh and Gunstar Heroes is amazing! It's fast paced and action packed!
It's like Contra only a bit more forgiving and more cartoony.
Another cool thing is you can choose which stage to play first like in Mega man.

Well, I guess I'll go for both TGIF urcle style. B-) Yet I'll most likely score Gunstar Heroes before either of them, i really wouldn't mind getting my Contra-ish fix on right now, seeing has Hardcorps is lost at shimmy shimmy sea. :p

And a cartoonier Contra sounds right up my alley! And as of late, I've been feeling half and half about getting the Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii. They have 1 and 2 on the VC, but there's just something about them that mildy bums me out. I've beaten 2 and 7, and i've got no real desire to play anymore of them aside from maybe MS3.

Anyways! Time to make trip down Belmont lane and blast my way through Translevania my with my tonacious Vamp killing Whip in Castlevania for the NES VC. :D

Have fun with Castlevania!
Just in case you didn't already know holy Water is your friend when fighting Death.
Jump on the upper left block and toss it down like crazy. He swoops down right on top of it and never has a chance. :)

I've already beaten Castlevania before, but I'm pretty sure i used the axe to finish death off. :p I'll defintily bust out the Holy Water next time, which was Supposed to be tonight. But I ended up watching Monster Squad instead. :D

Yeah I kinda figured you've beaten Castlevania before.
That holy water trick works wonders if you can aim it just right as Death swoops towards the floor.
It also works on Castlevania 3. Death aparently really hates holy water. :)

when you beat Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts the first time around the princess tells you shes hidden the "power" bracelet...thats what you use for the last 3 bosses. there is a different boss at the end but i havent managed to get to him. you get to him right after the two bosses before him. if you youtube it youll see what i mean. ive been trying that last level off and on for over a year. i can get to the other 2 bosses but rather the timer runs out or i die.

I got a few new VC games just a few days ago. I got Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, Super Ghouls N Ghosts, R-Type III and Adventures of Lolo 2. Before that, the last time I bought anything off the VC was back in May. Even though nothing new has come out in a while, there are still several games I'd like to download still. I also wish I would have known sooner about the Master System version of R-Type being removed so I could have picked that one up. I hate seeing games being removed :(
