The most terrifying sound in all of games is easily the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... before Sonic drowns. No contest. But there's so many great spooky themes, let's share them! I was going to go with Mad Monster Mansion from Banjo-Kazooie, or the Disco theme from Grabbed by the Ghoulies but I think I'll stick with Transylvania from Quackshot on the Mega Drive/Genesis:

Wonderfully, creepy and Halloweentastic tune. That blasted hedgehog had the tunes back in da day.
