I saw it on club nintendo today (North American Club Nintendo) for 200 coins & considered it but some what hesitant of it as I'm not a big RPG fan. So I got Maboshi Arcade instead off of club nintendo in the mean time as to whether or not to download super mario rpg. Letted my coins build up for a few months lol on club nintendo.
I absolutely love the game, one of my all time favorites. Keep in mind though that it is a Nintendo 64 game, so graphically, it may not have aged all that well. Super Mario RPG is indeed a role-playing game but its not overly detailed with customization and stats as some other RPG's are. l think everyone should give this classic a try, but if RPG's aren't your type of game then its a tough call.

It's my favorite mario game of all time. It has a nice storyline, a cool team, and is put together brilliantly in my opinion. I'd say it's worth the buy.
Great SNES Classic, impressive graphics for the time it was released, good storyline and nice character design. The world looks like if it were made out of cake, following Donkey Kong Country's pre-rendered technique to make good graphics on the 16-bit machine. The amount of details blows your head, and there's tons of intelligent puns and parodies found in the game.
Another quick fact: Levelling up is not too terrible in this game, contrary to other RPGs. You should probably finish the game being somewhere around level 25 - 30, if much. I did enjoy every bit of this game and still am, it's something that's related to the aura of the game that pulls me back to it, which is a plus.
Clever humor, funny bosses and epic battles await you if you decide to pick this month's freebie. Don't let this opportunity pass, you'll never know if it's going to never make its way out from the shadows again, although, if you're thinking of another game you might want to wait if it doesn't catch up with your style.
I would endearingly say yes, get it, without thinking twice for the price to pay for this hidden jewel. I'd compare it sometimes to a cult classic, few people now know about this game, and the jot who knows its existence, love it and have a place for it in their hearts. Why not you too?
