Topic: SNES Tecmo Super Bowl Games Any Good?

Just wondering if any of the SNES Tecmo Super Bowl games are any good? I love the NES Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

The SNES version makes major improvements from the NES version.

1. Full graphical updates
2. 15 minute quarters (exhibition and Pro Bowl only)
3. touchbacks

Not sure of the AI was fixed. Definitely recommend the game, though. I used to rent TSB3 often, which adds free agency.

How would you rank the three games. If you were only going to have one, which one would it be?

NES Tecmo Super Bowl includes touch backs, but it's silly to do so when you could break for a long run. I think this version plays better than the snes game. Regular Tecmo Bowl for the NES is by far the weakest version of the game.

Get the SNES version, which has a few upgrades from the NES version. If you're a fan of the series, I'd also recommend Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the DS. It plays like any of the Tecmo Bowl games, but with fictional teams and players, as EA own the rights to the NFLPA. Interestingly, they replaced one of the New York teams with one in Los Angeles (although you can customize team names and locations).

I am asking about which of these is better, all SNES games, Tecmo Super Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl II Special Edition, and Tecmo Super Bowl III Final Edition.

I don't know, really. I've only played the first one and the third. Both are great, but the third has the Jags and Panthers, plus a free agency feature. The first has a classic feel, however, since rosters can't be changed save for substitutions and lineups.
