For those who don't know, Resident Evil 1.5 is a title given by Capcom for the original, unfinished and ultimately completely scrapped sequel to Resident Evil. The game was between 60 and 80% finished. The main differences are the female protagonist Elza Walker, the environments (which were characterized by a blue-ish tone), the option to block entries...and much more. A lot of attention is being drawn on this 'game' thanks to the presence of the internet nowadays. It is one of the most 'wanted games' ever, and is regarded by many to be even potentially superior than the released Resident Evil sequel. Personally i think that both titles can exist next to each other, as they are in the end, radically different. However, i do hope that Capcom one day will decide to complete the title, or even remake and release it in the form of a alternative scenario of the commercially released title for example.

Yep, It looks slow and clunky like 1 and 2. I don't see how it could be better than 2 was though. 2 was amazing.

Thanks for replying, although i do not agree on terms of speed. As a matter of fact, Resident Evil 1.5 featured zombies that increase their attack speed when you've hit them long enough. In the final product they keep walking to you at the same pace. They also attack more frequently in groups . And yes, part two was amazing in my opinion, it still is one of my favourite titles ever. But that does not mean that the alternative sequel to the first game is rubbish or should be forgotten as if it did not even was in existence.

You're right. It doesn't mean it's bad or rubbish. But what was the reason that scrapped it? Resident Evil is about the only thing entertainment wise that can spook me out. Hence I don't play them anymore lol.

It was scrapped because Mikami was not satisfied with the result and direction the game was actually going in. He found the environments "too boring". Another reason to include Claire (Redfield) into the game, was to create a tie-in with the previous story (Chris Redfield) which biker Elza Walker of course did not have. I remember seeing lots of screenshots in magazines of the beta, and was quite awe-struck to be honest, so i cannot say if the decision of Mikami was ultimately right of wrong. Maybe it's either/neither

I thought I heard the developers themselves said you don't want to play this game because it was so bad.
Which of course only makes fans want to play it even more.
