@Intrepid What's on the Mario Kart: DD Bonus Disk? I don't believe I have one.

My Gamecube won't read it for some strange reason (I think my disc is a little too scratched), but I looked it up for you.

One thing this disk has over the kind of demos we have today is, if I chose to, I could pop the disk in and still be able to play them.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I've been wanting to try F-Zero GX for a while. Oh well, I'll get that game eventually.

I've owned a sizable collection that was very loved, but some got stolen. Damn

Star Fox: Assault
I got this game just to play multiplayer against my brother. Im dead serious

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
This is THE Mario Kart game to get. If you like Mario Kart, know that this is easily the best by far. The Killer App for this system, basically. I'd definitely pay full price for an online HD port of this game. Actually, considering the new stuff (Read: CRAP!) in the new Mario Kart Games, I'd probably be happier with a pure port 'missing' all that new stuff. Lightning in a Bottle, that's what this game is! I still play it every week with friends.

Namcomuseum
I got it for Dig Dug.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
It was pretty fun while it lasted and wholly unique with the paper thing.

Mario Party 5, Mario Party 6
They're both good games. Definitely easily, verily, destroys the Wii version.

Super Smash Bros Melee
The other killer app. but make no mistake, the real killer app is mario kart.

Some Metroid game
I never played it, really.

Kirby Airride
Umm. Whatever.

Mario Gold: Toadstool Tour
It was OK. Beats playing real golf, lol

Mario Superstar Baseball
I was actually having some fun with this game when we broke it out. Didn't have enough time to really get into it though.

I don't have the most impressive collection compared to the sheer number of games people have listed, but what I do have left are mostly games that I can still play with my son (I'm introducing him to controller-based games on my old GC) and I do have what I feel is the most important feature anyone trying to enjoy the full potential of his/her GameCube:

OFFICIAL NINTENDO COMPONENT CABLE AND DL-001 RELEASE DATE CONSOLE!

Untitled

If you have an HDTV, and are NOT using this cable you are missing out on the full potential of your GC. I'm amazed at the difference on some of the games, such as F-Zero GX, Soul Calibur, Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and Zelda:Twilight Princess. I find the picture to actually SUFFER when using an HDTV with a GameCube and it's standard composite red/white/yellow cable, RF adapter (yuck), and even the S-Video cable - nothing compares to the real-deal Nintendo Component cable when using an HDTV.

Here's the games - not pictured are StarFox adventures, NAMCO collection, Scooby Doo (for the kid), and Madagascar (also fo the kid.)

Untitled

Three Wavebirds - all perfect shape, and working (I also have 3 wired controllers):

Right now I've just busted the console out and have introduced my 4 year old son to controller-based gaming (he plays XBox 360 Kinect games) and his favorites are Smash Brothers Melee, and Soul Calibur II as he can smash buttons, and never fall of the stages LOL.

I think this is only true if you live in an NTSC region (like america or japan).
AFAIK in Europe there never was an official Component Cable. The best way to go in PAL regions is the official RGB cable.

Actually yes, that is true. NTSC regions had the 480P/progressive scan capable consoles (early on) and PAL did not.

Is there a large PAL population on this message board?
