I never seems to find anyone who's played Crash Twinsanity. That was my first 3D Platformer and I still think it's great. It's a bit short and most of the bosses just involved running in a large circle around them (combat as a whole wasn't a strength of the game), but the platforming is incredible, the level variety is great, and the humor is great.

@Fiyaball: I grew up with that game (and the story of how I got it it quite funny as well). Definitely a good puzzle platformer, but I also remember it being extremely difficult.

@Waluigi: I usually have to play the game in score attack, but I enjoy it a lot. I remember plowing through it before I had to go on a trip.

I don't view 999 or Virtue's Last Reward as games nobody else played mostly because on the forum I mainly frequent we have several fans of the series and it's probably the most expected game coming out this year for the 3DS.

When it comes to retro games the game I loved but no one else seems to have played is Unirally for the SNES, known as Uniracers in NA. It's a fun racing game from the side-perspective where you control a unicycle that can do tricks that both give you points and boost your speed. Some of the levels are your typical 1on1 racing levels where you need to beat the CPU (or other player) while others have you compete for points. It was also made by a company that later became Rockstar North which went on to spawn the popular GTA series.

Yeah, Unirally was so much fun back in the day. I'd be on it in a heartbeat if it had a VC release, even though it's got buckley's chance.
Unirally always reminds me of Iggy's Wrecking Balls for N64, another unique, fun racer.

Shaman King Master of Spirits 2. It had such a dumb story and some stages didn't make any sense, but it was fun as hell. Different combinations for sword attacks (similar to megaman zero), the soul system from Castlevania Aria of Sorrow but with the addition of being able to combine souls to make stronger attacks and other stuff, beautiful and varied sprite animations (Yoh showed his skeleton like in a cartoon when being electrocuted, and he and the bossses could be sent flying after a strong attack and even been hit again in mid air causing them to be sent flying again), many, many bosses, boss rush mode, different things to collect like cards and songs and a little voice acting for each character. My most played game in the GBA and a game that nobody knows and that it only has a bad review from a random guy in youtube.

I would be so shocked if anyone remembers this one.
Kingdom Crusade for the original black and white Game Boy.
it was an action/strategy hybrid game, with a medieval setting. you would control a band of characters, and wander around a map trying to claim territory, or defeat all your opponents in real time. it was pretty neat, and you could play as a rock-hurling Giant, which was definitely fun.

EVO: The Search for Eden on SNES. Really weird and fun evolution RPG. You start as a fish, gain experience, then evolve body parts, like bigger fins, or a tail. Then eventually you evolve to become an amphibian with feet, then reptile, bird, mammal, etc. It's a really cool game.

That one's actually a pretty popular cult classic. Kinda like Ikaruga, which I think someone else mentioned (either here, or in one of the other zillions of "great games no one knows about" threads. At the very least, it used to get mentioned at least 4 times per thread, along with The World Ends With You and Nier. Yeah, sure guys, no one's played those before <<). That said, much like Ikaruga, I'm not sure how many people actually played it, or just talked about it to bolster their "indie cred" or whatever...

EDIT:

...Okay, after actually reading through this thread, I think I might've been a little hard on ya there...I mean, despite what I said before, it _has been over a year since the last time I participated in one of these threads, and I guess I forgot how relatively mainstream this forum is compared to the other sites I've been to. I don't mean that as a slight, either, it's just that this isn't exactly the kind of place where I can have an extensive conversation about Princess Maker 2 or Conquest of the Crystal Palace, or even Ultima IV: The Quest for the Avatar. Heck, I have forum post open in another tab where I was reading about a guy relating his recent experience with Zwei and Way of the Saumari - I'm not exactly used to knowing what games people are talking about, to say the least...

Operation: Inner Space.

The game takes place inside your PC, you pick a faction to join, then a directory to go to, you then proceed to collect the icons for various applications you've installed, which are used as currency for more weapons and repairs. In many ways it's like an expanded version of asteroids.

This is honestly one of the best score-attack games ever made. The controls are tight, the art style is sweet, the sound effects are a joy to listen to, and the game-play is absolutely addicting!

The Legendary Starfy (2009): The only Starfy to be released in English. A easy but very enjoyable platformer for the DS. There are some similarities to Kirby and some very relaxing music.

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.

Love this game. Final boss is a pain though, mainly because of that stupid button mashing segment at the end. It's $5 at any Gamestop, so it's worth trying it out. Same goes for Sands of Destruction. (Actually, it's $13 now. Are people starting to careabout that game? ) Rocket Slime is also a fun underrated classic ($13). I also enjoyed Glory of Hercules, which is a $5 game.
