Thanks, only about... oh... 20 years too late for my SNES. I always did keep it out of the sunlight (well... until after the damage had already been done). Might have it near a vent though.
I don't understand why it wasn't mentioned in the instruction manual. Maybe Nintendo didn't want us to know? Barstewards.
Then again, maybe they did... Did anyone actually read those "consumer information and precaution" booklets that used to come with the games? (more like several pages of walls of boring legal text)
