Topic: Adventure Island for Gameboy

Hi guys,
I bought this game on ebay the other day, and it seems pretty cool. I do have a couple of questions/issues however.

1) Is there a save file? Seems to be pretty long, and I usually only game in short bursts (toilet). A lack of save file may require a good session to smash through it.

2) Swimming is nearly impossible. I don't know if this is a regular aspect of the series (this is the first game on any platform I've played) but getting Master Higgins some height in his swimming is so hard... It makes it nearly impossible to go upwards at a decent speed and I find I am basically unable to dodge the boss of world 2...

Any advice?

No save file, although there is a world-select cheat code. (though the sequel has a password feature)
(according to GameFAQs, wait until Higgins gets hit by a coconut on the title screen, then press Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B, A, B)
IIRC, the GB version is 8 worlds with 4 levels and a boss each, maybe 5 levels.

Swimming: hold "A" to go up. Release to go down.

Wow, You are indeed a saint gemini saint. I just quickly got up to a swim level and checked and you indeed are correct. Now when I try to complete this game I should breeze through it!
