Sadly, I doubt that the developers of Psychonauts will consider making a sequel, because it was a shocking commercial failure: By the end of the year, the title had shipped fewer than 100,000 copies...." It was, however, a great game and received great reviews, and was eventually re-released on Steam and Xbox Live Arcade.
And Prince of Persia (2008) has a sequel: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Ehh, okay. I suppose it's a similar argument to that Mario one up there.
It's not like Brutal Legend was teh hot cakes for them either unfortunately, so you're probably right.
What you're not right about however, is The Forgotten Sands. I didn't undo 20 hours of gameplay to save Elika for her not to appear in the sequel. Same series, different universe.
Those are the only 2 major ones I can think of for now. The rest either don't need sequels, or are already coming out with 'em.

I'd like to see if, even if it had to be a stupid wiiware app a true resurrection of the 8bit light gun classics - Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, and Wild Gunman.

@kingbuilder Oooh, I never thought about Geist. That one does need a sequel. A real overlooked gem.
I also want a new game from the twisted mind of Goichi Suda, along the lines of Killer 7. Killer 7 remains one of the most unique and creative games I've ever played. Eternal Darkness was an interesting game, even though I thought the gameplay itself was kind of boring and annoying at times. I think a sequel would be good. Starfox Adventures. I know it wasn't exactly well-received among fans, but I thought it was a great game, and I think a sequel could remedy a lot of complaints made about the first. BattleTanx: Global Assault. I'm almost hesitant to suggest this, because so much can go wrong with a sequel, but I loved the two games on the N64, especially Global Assault. Of course, 3DO is now defunct, so it's not going to happen Rush 2/Rush 2049 are two of my favorite racing games, and I'd like to see another game that can capture the arcade action and high-speed fun of these games. Midway is dead, too, though.
Scribblenauts is a game that badly needs a sequel - with improvments. Thankfully, this is already on the way in the form of Super Scribblenauts.
Sequel (Conker: Live and Reloaded)? That's a remake that was toned down considerably to a teenage level. I want a REAL sequel, not some toned-down rehash.

/me hi-fives grensworthshero on the idea of a Rush 2/Rush 2049 sequel.
I loved playing Rush 2 on my N64. I want a decent sequel. L.A. Rush sucked.
