@bezerker99: Considering MGS2 came out before the advent of the internet being the dominating force it is today, that spoiler, in that you only play as Solid Snake on the tanker part of the game, was genuinely mind blowing and was an extremely well kept secret!

Metal Gear Solid 2 isn't my favourite in the series, but it had more memorable twists and turns than any of the others to this day.

My friend has asked me over to play multiplayer with him this weekend, but truth be told, I haven't enjoyed Halo quite the same since Reach, which I thought offered the most consistent campaign in that there were no duds amongst the dozen or so levels/missions.

343i are never going to recapture Bungie's work, no matter how hard they try.

I agree. MGS2 wasn't my favorite either but the graphics and gameplay at the time was mind blowing. The spoiler near the beginning of that game was also equally mindblowing. If the story (which made zero sense to me) was more comprehensible, I would rank the game much higher.

I can't comment too much on Halo 5 as the only game from this series I have played was the original. I had Halo 2 but ended up selling it before I even took it out of the shrink wrap packaging.

I played the multiplayer for about seven hours today, and I am among the fans of this game. I'm starting the campaign soon, so I'll have a full opinion about that tomorrow. But as far as first impressions on the multiplayer, here's where it fits in with the other Halo games:

Halo 2 > Post-Bloom Reach > H:CE > Halo 5 > Halo 4 > Halo 3 > Bloom Reach

The mechanics and the map design are a really big step up from Halo 4. It seems like this game will be playable at a competitive level. The new gametype, Breakpoint, is a big let down, and very frustrating when you are forced to play it in Arena. Warzone is pretty good mindless fun, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The new weapons are nothing spectacular, but welcome additions nonetheless. I can see why people would not like the multiplayer in this installment, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Of course, the game types just need to be Battle Rifle start. I don't know why they try to shove the Assault Rifle / Pistol start gametypes down our throat with the launch of each Halo game.

@Anthracks: I was a pretty big fan of Halo Reach, yet I have absolutely no idea what this 'post-bloom' bobbins you are talking about! Care to explain for someone oblivious like me?

As for Pistol and Assault Rifle, they are the classic Halo starting gear; the UNSC Battle Rifle is too much of an advantage with its scoped view/zoom and the number of bullets to kill being comparative low (the lower, the better) to other rifles.

The multiplayer in Halo 5, to me, seems to be trying a little bit too much (of everything). I'd prefer a classic Halo multiplayer, even if it excludes all those power-ups, as opposed to trying to appeal to both the Battlefield and Call of Duty market.

Halo 2 multiplayer is the greatest of all time, and never yet to be bettered.

I enjoyed Halo 3 the most as it was my first online multiplayer game, used to do that sand map with that big Mammoth tank in big team battle, I think it was and I loved the map Valhalla! Or the one with the giant rotating gear mechanism!

For roughly the first two years that Halo: Reach was out, the game included what is the worst mechanic ever introduced into a Halo game, the shot bloom. It made your bullets go in random directions depending on "how fast you pull the trigger." It was originally included to introduce new "strategy" to gunfights, but all it ended up doing was turn battles from a chess match into a dice roll.

About two years into the life cycle, 343 Studios finally listened to the fans, and the game was ultimately playable (and enjoyable) at a competitive level, where the option to remove gun bloom was introduced. It made the game a test of skill again.

@Anthracks: I had no idea the existed I'm probably still using that now aha still as good as that is they messed up maps mainly in living dead and introduced ghost zombies which was horrible

The multiplayer, like I said, is the best it's been in years. The single player isn't the strongest, but it's enjoyable. I got through it on Heroic in about six hours.

@DoctorOverbuild:
I'm starting with the campaign before moving into any kind of multiplayer as I'm one of the weird Halo fans who is more into the series for the story (I really like the expanded Halo universe outside the games as well). So far I'm five missions in and liking it quite a bit. A few questionable design decisions but the shooting is as fast, fluid and fun as ever.

And 343i had the cheek to say that the game is between 8 - 12 hours long on whatever mode the medium difficulty is.

I played Warzone round my friends yesterday evening after getting back from watching the new Bond film, Spectre, and while I can see hints of what made Halo 2 the most favourable multiplayer, the whole randomised requisition system is blooming awful!

You either have to grind your way to get those particular top trump-alike cards, or pay a couple of pounds (i.e. real money) to even out the odds. It is all completely random too, which makes actually paying for a randomised pack even worse.

Not feeling the love for this one very much. The campaign in 60fps is really nice and very welcome though, albeit with shiner/smoother Halo 4 visuals rather than a big generational leap of sorts.

So I've been playing campaign with some friend on legendary (been a tradition of mine) I've got to say after beating the game on normal solo with those awful ai's it's a lot more fun with friends! The reviving technique is really helpful legendary is still a fair challenge though!

Finally finished the campaign, I enjoyed the story but felt the lack of chief was annoying as his story had the most compelling bits. I liked Locke and Osiris seeing how the Guardians were affecting planets but the missions could have been easily devivded between Blue Team and Osiris.Shame this one has no spartan ops 2nd story mode like 4 did.

The multiplayer is why you stay and ive been maining Warzone and the all around mode.
