Yes! I absolutely agree. i wouldn't normally have anything particular against halo but those damn fanboys!!!!! Everytime I hear some babble being uttered about how awesome halo is and how it's so amazing, I wanna PUKE!! News flash: It ain't that great! this one game is a very large reason for my scorn towards xbox fanboys.
@lockd The original plans for a Halo movie fell through. THey could revive the idea, but I don't know how likely that is.
Not quite... part of Peter Jackson's Halo project (i.e. first Halo movie project) became Halo 3: ODST... it started as an expansion pack for Halo 3 (that's why it was trademarked with the Halo 3 name), and the project grew rapidly and became a stand-alone game....

Its yes and no for me. I love the story mode but I can not stand the vs. mode even if I play with people as bad as myself. I find its multiplayer vs. mode and xbox like multiplayer to be severely over rated, people I have gone to school or worked with have stated they went straight to live without playing the story. I still prefer my Animal Crossing. XP

I've never been a fan of FPS games and I didn't find anything special with the Halo series. I actually found it pretty repetitive. It just seemed like every other FPS out there. It baffles me that people find this the best FPS out there. The fanboys are also annoying (saying that Halo is the best series ever, hah) My little brother's friends all say that Halo ODST will be the best game this year and saying it has the best graphics (which I of course disagree) An older kid came over and we played mostly Halo 3 ALL AFTERNOON After two hours, I got bored. So yeah, I think it's overratted. I mean...ITS GOT ITS OWN ANIME FOR GOSH SAKES!!!

Halo IS overrated. But, you can say that to just about any video game series to be fair... Though... I really, really, really, really, REALLY hate Halo... It's just stupid to me... I can say that Sonic & Final Fantasy & Megaman are overrated as well... So really, you can honestly say any game series is. Held back venting off best he could

New Super Maio Brothers got perfect ratings and was NOT a perfect game. It had the 2D feel to it but it was WAY too easy and the levels seemed very short. The three coins collecting was far too easy to find all of and the World Map was nowhere near as good as Super Mario World on SNES. NSMB should have been much more than it was but was hyped to be the best in the series and its not. Ill take the SMB and SMBW over NSMB anyday. Hype Overates just about all games.

I don't think its overated oat all. Look at the reviews, there's a reason why s many people call it the best shooter. And if the Halo series isn't the best, then what is? People who don't like Halo just haven't played it/don't own it...
Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Goldeneye N64, Perfect Dark, Metroid Prime, among others are far better FPS... Halo is the best ONLINE MULTIPLAYER Console FPS, there's no doubt about it, but just like Killzone or Call of Duty, is a very generic FPS as it is, there's little innovation there...
