While it does share some exploration traits with Super Metroid, they're both very different games. That being said, $10 is an absolute steal for Symphony of the Night, a game that is considered to be one of the best ever made.

I can't say which game is better since it's really a matter of opinion but I think both games are fantastic. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's gameplay is inspired by Super Metroid so they feel very similar even though they are quite different games. If you liked Super Metroid then I'm sure that you would enjoy SOTN.

My thoughts exactly. Being without a 360 or PS3/PSP, I bought SotN about a year back for the PSOne and it was one of the best gaming purchases I ever made. A truly epic masterpiece.

I definitely didn't pick it up new, but it's in incredible condition. I couldn't find a scratch on it, and it was $23 I believe. Worth every penny!

It is much better than Super Metroid, something I never thought I'd say. Get it. It's awesome.

Google is your friend. I'm sure you can find a million reviews. But when it's one of those few games that are pretty unanimously considered among the greatest games of all time, you can't go wrong. If you like Metroid-style games, you will like it.

I can't even believe this discussion is still going on. Go get Symphony of the Night NOW! End of story.

It's pretty awesome aside from a couple obscure goals you need to figure out with no in-game help.

Castlevania:SOTN is a masterpiece, I can't believe I missed out on that game for years. I have it downloaded on my PS3 and PSP.

I don't have enough Wii points for Castlevania : The Adventure ReBirth so I fired up SOTN since I downloaded it off the PSN a couple months ago. I had never played it before but I'm loving it so far! I definitely recommend it.
