Why would anyone want a tablet and a switch? If Nintendo added Netflix, YouTube and Facebook they would basically kill the gaming tablet market. I think they shold do this but focus on games and online features more. I really hope they add this down the line. What does every one think?
They would be nice, but it all depends on the use people give their tablets. For me, its main function in university was reading/using the internet to pass the time, and with the low memory it has I doubt I could use the Switch efficiently to read all kind of PDF, write annotations, etc.
I'm sure this stuff will all be coming. Nintendo is just in disarray at the moment. Once they get the console shipped, they'll finish up these other things. Maybe it should have all been out when the console released, but I don't think there's any reason to think it isn't on the way.
@Luna_110 The Switch has just as much RAM(4GB), as other tablets on the market. of the iPads, only the 12.9 inch model has 4GB, the rest have 2GB or less. A lot of androids come in the 3GB or less range.
@derrin
Im not talking about RAM. I'm talking about storage.
I doubt Nintendo will use the Switch to compete with, say, the Kindle. This is focused on gaming and entertainment, but it won't replace tablets for those who need something for productivity.
@Luna_110 I was going to comment on storage as well, but thought I'd start with RAM since RAM is more of an issue than storage ever would be. Storage should have no bearing on the performance of an application, as long as the system didn't run out of it. The Switch has 32GB of storage which is, again, much more than many iPhones, iPads, and tablets. The Switch allows for a lot of expansion of storage, but with a document taking anywhere from 20kb to 2MB for a big ebook, I couldn't see how there should be any issues with this working well on the switch.

A tablet is (designed to be) a highly versatile computing device, for which the user adapts to their own needs. The Switch is a gaming console.
Generally, tablets have a 3:2 aspect ratio that makes them easier to view content in landscape mode. They are larger, more convenient in weight and accessories, and already have OSs' with a huge install base.
As soon as you add non-gaming apps to Switch, the battery life becomes more unpredictable, the marketing message is less clear, Nintendo have to pay royalty fees, and the OS becomes more bloated.
They're not going to kill any 'gaming tablet' market, because that market doesn't exist. What you're referring to are people who purchase generic tablets with the intent of playing games; yet the tablets themselves are not optimised for gaming.
