Topic: What kind of game would you want on the Switch?

GreenToad

I'd love to get some feedback for a bit of research since there's such a big community here!

If you could make any type of game, (simple or complicated) what kind of game would you make for the Switch?
Is there any particular genre of games you feel are missing?
What type of games do you play the most recently? (Apart from on the Switch)
What's your favorite game of all time?

Any and all answers are appreciated! Thanks!

I think the switch needs more puzzlers - including things like Guru Logic Champs, Professor Layton, Box Boy, Picross, Polarium, Puzzle Quest, Angry Birds and classics like jigsaws, MineSweeper, Sudoku, Bridges, Mah Jongg etc. etc. Hopefully indies will cover the majority of these and they'll be well supported like the DS/3DS.

I enjoy most games especially Nintendo titles like Zelda, Pikmin and Animal Crossing, but don't particularly enjoy flight sims or bullet hell shooters.

Puzzle-based games tend to suit my lifestyle as I can play them in short sessions due to lack of time. They tend to be games that give me a mental challenge, rather than a physical one or something that helps me to relax/wind down after a busy day.

Something like Endless ocean 2. Maybe it could have a different environment, like forests or mountains. Or simply Endless ocean 3. With an extensive character editor where you can make any character you want. And with no story at all, just go out exploring, discover things and make money and improve your hub location in the process. That would be great.

An adventure or action or platformer game starring Doctor Mario.

A game like Child of Eden. Maybe a port of Child of Eden.

I don't like fps that much but Doom 2016 would be very appreciated. I'm playng it on pc and it is very fun, I really like it.

A third person horror adventure inspired by Lovecraft novels like Eternal darkness, but not a sequel to Eternal darkness considering the true ending of that game was quite "definitive"

A game like Sonic generations (not the one for the 3DS) but with much more "bucolic" stages like Green Hill and Rooftop run. I'm sick of badass post apocaliptic sci-fi cities in Sonic games. I can tolerate one Scrap Brain stage but nothing more than that

A platformer game in the vein of New Super Mario Bros but without Super Mario and Miis instead of him. Super Mii Bros or something like that

Arcade racing games with realistic looking cars and environment. Something like Need for speed games were on the first Playstation

A sequel to Hey Pikmin with more traditional control scheme without the use of touch screen. Throwing Pikmins simply pressing a button works better for me

*tongue firmly in cheek. Nintendo consoles tend to miss out on the hobbyist's games. I mean, it doesn't get the serious car sim (with analogue triggers ) for the car enthusiast. It doesn't get the movie experiences like Uncharted or Metal Gear Solid for the movie goers out there. It doesn't get games of mindless violence to appeal to all the children desperately wanting an asbo. It doesn't appeal to the gun loving, petrol headed, cinephile deliquents out there (I believe Sony call them the players?)

If I could make any game, I would have to grab the Firefly licence and make a 1st person space exploration game, running and gunning, jumping in to a starcraft to plot navigation charts and fly seamlessly from sector to sector, salvaging and trading space junk, running criminal missions whilst avoiding the Alliance or worse, Reavers. Basically...everything I said above in the previous paragraph ... but in space!!! (I am hoping Metroid 4 scratches this itch)

I play so many different types of games (apart from the Switch).

I couldn't tell you my favourite game of all time...there have been so many

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

More 3D platformers. I can never get enough of those.

Nothing is alive. We are all automatons governed by the laws of the universe.

A good horror game.

RPGs!!! So far we have only got I Am Setsuna, and the reaction to that is pretty lukewarm. Disgaea is fine, but it's a TRPG really. Looking forward to Xenoblade!

Oh, and I'll take a Fallout-style WRPG set in the Firefly universe. Count me in!

Ace Attorney. A full 3D adventure with full voice acting.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

A lot of people have already said: FPS.

ThatNyteDaez

Action/Adventure RPG in the same vein as Phantasy Star Online's series but with a good number of changes (open world, 16 Players max per server, much more intuitive combat system along the lines of Bayonetta and some seriously epic action scenes).

Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.

Every JRPG ever made. Ni No Kuni 2 and Persona 5 would have fit way better on the system, and it's not as if either of them are exactly pushing technical boundaries (like with most JRPGs).

That Tales game could be really cool too if they let it cook — it's time for the series to return to a Nintendo system.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.
