So I’m emigrating to the US and wondering if my Nintendo Switch (UK) will work there?

It will work @Ruue but you will need to buy an AC converter adapter to convert your Swichs' power plug to work in U.S 60hz power outlets(Different shape and hrtz than in Europe). And you may want/need to make a U.S Eshop account. You will have to use your U.K Eshop account for any DLC you want for the games you own now. But thankfully the Switch is region unlocked meining games from anywhere will work on any Switch. Just remember that DLC is region locked and the Switch Eshop account must be set to where the game came from. AKA if you buy a game from Japan your Eshop account needs to be set to Japan to get DLC for that game.

Ok thanks for your reply @BacklogBlues just to clear up any confusion does this mean I can’t play digital games I buy on the eShop too?

Yes @Ruue you can play your digital library. You just can't come to America and set your region to American and expect to be able to download DLC for your games you bought in Europe. If you want to download dlc for games you bought in Europe you have to have your Switch region set to Europe to download DLC. And if you want DLC for games you bought on an American account you need to switch your Switches' region to American. It's really just a matter of switching your Switch to the region you bought a game in. It's really no big deal as you can have an account for every region in the world you just need to take a few seconds to switch your region. So yes you can play and buy digital stuff.

@BacklogBlues You don't need to use a US account if you're in the US i think.

I bought Sonic Mania Limited Edition from Amazon US (which was download only at the time and came with just a download code) I created a US Nintendo account to redeem said code, and downloaded it.
Once it was on my system I can play this on either my UK or US account, it doesn't matter once the game is downloaded to your system. (In regards to DLC, yes you need to go into the corresponding eShop using whichever region account)

The only thing you need is a new power lead, or just get a cheapo US/UK plug converter (I use one all the time when travelling and have had no problem)

Besides changing the charging adapter for US you will need to create a USA Nintendo account to get US eShop products or USA DLC downloads. Beyond that games should work as though their English. So you will have a UK account and USA account for USA eShop and DLC.
