Hi everyone,
I feel like Im missing out. I havent tried any Trails games. There are a lot of them though, and I dont know if its better to wait or start playing. Ive heard its better to begin with the first game, which is not available on Switch. I only want to play on NS though as Im building my collection. Do you guys think its worth playing the games that are currently available? Or is there a good chance that Falcom is going to release more of them later? If so, I hope the current games are still around by then.
Thanks!

@Justaguest I have been eyeing the Trails games for so long but I haven't taken the plunge due to similar reasons.

I believe the general consensus is that it's best to play the entire series in order. The only trails games not on switch seems to be the Trails in the Sky trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel I and II. However, I don't think this is something that Falcom can do anything about. Apparently, Trails of Cold Steel I and II are already on switch in Japan but the english versions were published by XSeed.

XSeed currently holds the publishing rights to the trails in the sky trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel I and II. NISA holds the publishing rights for Trails of Cold Steel III and the games after (which are already on switch). Falcom already expressed a desire to bring their games to Switch, but the older translated games really depends on if XSeed is willing to bring them to Switch. Given that they are translated already I would assume that it's not too difficult to bring them over, but for whatever reason, they haven't done it as yet.

The second arc, Zero and Azure, are a good duology.

The arc after Sky (first arc), before Cold Steel (third arc), and Daybreak (fourth arc).

All the games take place in a shared universe but from different perspectives.

@Vortexeo Oh, I didnt know, thank you. I checked and the Cold Steel games released on 8th of July and 5th of August in 2021. Its been some time then. I hope there is still a chance.

@Magician So its not unreasonable to get started with those two. Do you think its ok to play the first arc after (in case we get the chance)?

@Justaguest Considering Cold Steel 1 & 2 are locked to Asian territories on Switch, yes...Zero and Azure are the best place to begin if the Switch is the only platform where you're experiencing the story. The alternative is to get a PS4 to play all four Cold Steel games, right here right now. Or play everything on Steam.

@Magician I see, but if I choose to play the second arc first, its not gonna be like super spoilery to ruin the experience with the first arc, right?
