Hi. Looking for a split screen tank game where my son and I can battle against each other or work as a team against the computer. Not interested in playing online with others. If there is nothing like this are there some 2 player battle ship or army games that would do similar
Thanks.

There is only one game that springs to mind, and that is Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match DX, and it is based on an anime/manga property of the same name. As far as I am aware, it does not support split-screen multiplayer, but it does support local wireless multiplayer, though this will of course require two consoles and two copies of the game.

It was not issued a Western release, however, the Japanese/Asian release does include English support.

Alternatively, Ubisoft's adaptation of the board game Risk (which I believe supports couch multiplayer)
is also an option, and is often on sale in the eShop, or is available in physical form via the Hasbro Game Night compilation (which also includes Monopoly and the excellent Trivial Pursuit Live).

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Thanks for the reply. We only have 1 console but we can make it so we have 2 Controled pads (a blue and an orange one). Are there any shooting game where we can play against each other ( my son is 9).

Not sure how realistic you're looking for, but you could always try Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics. It has a tank battle game (not split screen though, it's an overhead affair where each player is looking down into the battle area from above). While it's probably a lot simpler than what you're looking for, it has a bunch of other activities as well such as bowling, a shooting gallery, and takes on classic card & board games as well.

Also, maybe you could try looking into Battle Supremacy: Ground Assault? It only mentions a single player campaign & online multiplayer though, so I'm not sure what (if any) local multiplayer options it has.

Oh, and maybe Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders. This one's a WWII era aerial dogfighter, but like the suggestion above I'm not sure what local multiplayer options it has.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Thanks for your help. I thought most games would be multi player but the choice seems very limited

I would prefer 3rd person if possible. Any type of game really were me and my son can play together using 1 device. We have downloaded world of tank but it would require a second device via the internet, it is also very complicated but has good graphics and doesn’t look babyish. Are they some simple game that have good graphics
