One can only hope, but this is a small list of games I am pretty sure have little or no chance of reappearing on the Switch (or any platform for that matter). Their chances range from very slim to pig's fly:
Xenogears (pig's fly)
Lunar: Silver Story Complete and Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete (pig's fly)
Pocky and Rocky 2 (pig's fly)
Lufia 1 and 2 (pig's fly)
Lagoon (pig's fly)
Chrono Cross (very slim)
Any of the Castlevania titles starting from SOTN to the DS titles (very slim)
The Original Fallout 1+2 (very slim)
Pretty much a lot of the point and click adventure games on the PC, like Normality or The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys (platformer sequel), I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, The Old King's Quest Series...
Finally, someone else on this forum has played Xenogears.
Yes, out of all those games Xenogears and Chrono Cross would be my #1 picks. But Xenogears is probably my favorite PS1 RPG and I would love for more people to be able to play it, despite how aged it is in many respects.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
@Severian Xenogears isn't as out there as people think. I mean, KOS-MOS made it into XC2, and with the huge popularity of the Xeno franchise as of late, remasters/updates of the original games could be a good move.
Unfortunately though, Lufia and Rune Factory both seem to be dead given that the IP rights are in legal limbo as far as I know.
I hope so. Because if a lot of those games end up on Switch, then hands down, then I will forever remember it as the best system of all time and few will be able to argue because ports or not, all the classics are there and expanding.
Planescape Torment would be another great title...
@ReaderRagfish I never thought I would come in here and find someone actually want Snowboard Kids! Would so love to see a true remake/reboot to that game on the Switch! Mario Kart needs some competition.

War - never been so much fun! Loved that Cannon Fodder theme song. I'd actually pick a different Sensible Software title, though: Sensible World of Soccer, with modern player rosters. However, it would need to be packaged with a wireless Zipstick.
Lunar: Silver Star Story and Planescape: Torment are both available on mobile platforms, so I don't think either is beyond the realms of possibility for Switch. Planescape might have the best shot, especially if CRPGs like Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Infinity 2 do decent business.
I'll give a shout out to Legend by Mindscape too - never did get to the end of that one.
Edit: I forgot Vagrant Story. How could I forget Vagrant Story?
@Cobalt I thought as much, remembered getting the PC version about 10 years ago only to find the intro song was butchered. The Amiga version of this game is one of the best retro games ever. Remember playing it so much back in the day!

Shadowgate and Deja Vu. Point'n'click adventure games I love dearly.
Someone released a remaster of Shadowgate on PC not long ago. I'd love a port of that on Switch.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

@ReaderRagfish I never got the chance to play Snowboard Kids 2. For some reason, despite selling best in Europe, the second game never got an official release over here. I really would love to play it though.
I feel it's a franchise that is long overdue a comeback, it's just a matter of whether Atlus is bothered about these kinds of games anymore or are willing to sell the IP to someone who would be.
I will need to dig into trying the GameBoy Color version of Cannon Fodder. There was some impressive games for that system back in the day.
@Cobalt YES That's the song! Gonna have to play it loud!
