Topic: Looking for a TRPG (Tactical RPG) to replace FE3H. Suggestions?

I am on the final battle on Fire Emblem 3 Houses, and have mostly loved the game. It got a little easy at the end even though I am playing on the hardest difficulty (except for main story missions which were about right, maybe still a smidge easy). I mainly play at the gym while on the elliptical, it keeps my mind off the pain and focused on battle! So, I need a new gym game. Hopping to find something with lots of tactical depth, a strong challenge, and very little down time (non-battle time)... I hated the explore the monastery bits of FE3H. I looked into Triangle Strategy, and while the battles seem amazing, some reviews said that it was more down time than battle time. (On the other hand, pure battle games like... oh what was it, that medieval advanced wars title... they can get a little repetitive too). Any suggestions? I know I am impossible, lol! Thanks guys!

(P.S. Disgea fits the bill, but I played 5 and didn't care too much for the overly sexual themes)

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark, if you're looking for something like Final Fantasy Tactics.

Warhammer 40k Mechanicus, if you want more challenge.

Valkyria Chronicles 4, if you want one of the best games Sega has published in years.

Transistor, if you don't enjoy controlling several units every turn.

With all of the HD remasters Square-Enix have been doing, I'd like to believe Vagrant Story is due soon?

Anyways, avoid games like King's Bounty II, The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, and Mutant Year Zero...the Switch port for those games aren't great.

LOVED triangle strategy. theres a lot of story but it adds so much. your decisions impact the story and there are plenty of battles, believe me
also loved the first mario rabbids and supposedly the 2nd is better.
tactics ogre comes out the 11th and should be mad good
other than that i suppose into the breach

I would definitely say check out Into the Breach if you haven't already. It's fairly cheap and highly critically acclaimed.

I find the Mario and Rabid games to be fun, but not challenging enough to keep my attention. There are some great suggestions here, thank you guys. Those who have played Triangle Strategy, how does it compare to Fire Emblem Three Houses with it's ratio of battles to story?

@ChristGuard first half of the game, honestly is like 60% exposition 40% battles
second half however (and in NG+ when you can skip all stuff you have seen but see the new stuff you missed first time) like 75% battles 25% story.

best thing is the mock battles when you can experiment with builds whenever you want AND get exp from

plus i personally think the game looks better than 3 houses (2DHD afficionado here)
voice acting isnt on 3 houses level but still good
main thing strategy wise this game has over 3 houses is elevation, where everyone is on the same level in 3 houses, you can go on higher ground for different approaches in triangle strategy
