After buying the Switch I bought another gray joy cons, a neon joy cons, yellow joy cons and just placed an order for a pink and green joy cons on sale. I also bought 2 pro controllers and ordered another one after seeing it on sale for $50. Ordered an extra dock on sale for $60 at Walmart. I don’t know why I keep buying these extra accessories. Anyone else having this similar buying urge for a Switch accessories especially when on sale?
@Meowpheel I have that exact case! Makes the Switch a bit more comfortable to hold, and, more importantly, gets rid of that awful feeling that I'm going to pull the joycons off when I play in handheld mode.
For accessories, I got these things that don't come with the console around the same time as the console:
Pro controller
Carry case
Tempered glass screen protectors
Since then, all I've got in terms of Switch accessories are:
2nd AC adapter (so my pro controller can charge without the need of another device on)
2nd pro controller (so I can swap automatically to a charged pro controller when the other runs out)
128GB microSD card (the Switch's internal memory is pathetically small)
I may invest in the Xenoblade 2 pro controller if Nintendo decides takes classic games seriously as I hear the dpad is a lot better but I'm doubting Nintendo will do much more than just the paid online service games.
I did when I first got it. But there hasn't been anything for it lately that I don't need. Started with the glass screen protector, table top stand and rubber joy con grips. The last thing I bought was a Anker power bank. I bought that instead of a battery grip so I can use it for other electronics.
Accessories-wise, I bought a Pro Controller, a Splatoon 2 Pro Controller, a XC2 Pro Controller, Neon Green/Neon Pink Joy-Con, the Joy-Con Charging Grip and a travelling case. Most of these were either because I'm a collector and others (like the case, standard Pro and Charging Grip) I saw as essentials. It's been a while since I bought any.
Just purchased my very first switch accessory the Nintendo Pro Controller off of the walmart website and I will be going to pick it up sometime tomorrow. Glade I got it for a good price of only $50, I didn't want to shell out $70 + tax for a pro controller.
@Ralizah haha yeah, I like that it feels more like a single unit. I tried a combo of these with this (my brother bought them for his switch) and I kinda got annoyed with all the separate pieces.
I also have a carrying case and glass screen protector, but my brother donated those so I don't count them.
All three Pro Controllers (Plain, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2)
I would never have bought the plain one if the other two had been available sooner, but since I have it in my possession, I'm thinking of keeping the plain one in the car as a spare (or I might even give it away).
Joy-Con (Red [L/R], Blue [L/R], Yellow [L/R])
I've got the swapped Splatoon ones on the way from the U.S.(I'll most likely grab the regular ones locally), and I'll most likely grab the Odyssey Red ones too if the Non-Stop Climax edition of Bayonetta becomes available on Play-Asia. I have no interest whatsoever in the grey Joy-Cons.
Car mount
Game card cases (Pokkén Tournament DX and Breath of the Wild
PlayStand
Joy-Con charger (for up to 4 Joy-Con)
Red and Super Mario Odyssey Joy-Con comfort grips (with Splatoon 2 and Breath of the Wild ones on the way)
Bog standard Switch case
Joy-Con straps (Pink and Green)
I may grab more at some point, but they're simply too expensive for what they are, and I think it's rather contemptible of Nintendo to not have included them as standard with their respectively coloured Joy-Con.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
The switch does have very cool accessories I can see why people have bought lots, but I have just brought carry case, screen protector, and the awesome 8-bitdo controller. Would love to get a pro controller as well but the price for everything is just too high for me to impulse buy.
Also, I like the look of the case that holds everything as one system. @Meowpheel how easy is it to take on and off to get the switch in the dock.
I bought the pro controller, a screen protector, and a case with cart storage.
Will probably get a new set of Joycon this year at some point, though - I actually prefer the Joycon over the pro controller; I'm weird. But yea, I use them so much that they're really taking a beating. Still very clicky and holding up pretty well after hundreds and hundreds of hours, but I'm starting to notice the sticks getting a little "mushy" like older controller buttons used to do. Haven't had to expand memory or anything because I buy physical, so that's been nice.
