@Ralizah : To the best of my knowledge (and after gleaning through some of Atlus's more recent efforts), no. At least not where actual games are concerned (LRG occasionally produce other merchandise as well, but I strongly doubt that they have collaborated with Atlus there either).

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Game is out. What's the verdict?

I bought it digitally and have the Asian English physical version on order from Play-Asia. Made a team consisting of one of every class, then saved the game because I'm too deep in Zelda to play anything else.

But I am curious what the consensus is.

The low price of admission is what made me try the series on the 3DS, and the beautiful music is what made me buy all of them.

So since these are double the price for half the sound quality, my current position is to wait for a sale. And then the plan is to buy the only one I don’t have on 3DS (the third one).

Been keeping my eye on the physical release since launch as I'm kinda keen to play it but the price was just too high for me to justify buying it but noticed that Play-Asia have it on sale for a slightly more reasonable price at the moment so decided to grab it while I can.

Sigh. I wanted to be strong and not get any of these because I basically have the better versions on the 3DS (except for 3’s which never had a remake, so that would be the logical one to get).

But since they were on sale at a reasonable price, I went and got…. 2. Of course. Because I’m a creature of habit, and 2 is my favorite of the bunch.

I suppose it has the double purpose of letting me compare the versions a bit closer, since (again) 2 is the one I’m the most familiar with.

It’s truly strange to play it stripped of all the improvements. I don’t mind the (huge) downgrade in the audio department as much as I expected, but the downgrade in graphical detail does affect me a bit. And it’s not because these look bad, it’s just…. Things like the FOEs being balls on the map makes it harder to judge their movement in the 3D space, the lack of visual hints for the shortcuts also means I spend a lot of time hugging the walls looking for them at random instead of seeing where I’m going (and it also means the mazes are very repetitive, with very few unique wall sections that repeat over and over).

I also miss being able to recolor the character art, it was truly one of my favorite features on the 3DS.

The map making is ok (I use the touch screen for that), though figuring it was a bit of a game of Twister at first.

Picnic mode is very very easy, you can auto the early FOEs with ease, which I was not expecting. But that’s not a bad thing, tbh.
