Topic: Digital download onto wrong account

My daughter has the original switch and the account she uses was one I created with my email. Today I got a switch because she wanted me to play games with her. We tried to add another user to that original account and it wouldnt allow me too. So we created a new account for the new switch.

Well she got a little to ahead of herself and downloaded a digital game to the original account and now we cannot get it to the new account on the new switch.

Is there a way to make both switches on one account and make the new one (mine) the admin and parental account?
If not, is there a way to get the digital game downloaded to the new account?
Also before the new account was created I purchased the family membership to the online store through the original account thinking that would make it so I could add a user and a second switch but that didn't work either.

Nintendo is closed today, so can anyone help? They don't make this crap easy and for how much it costs it should be a lot simpler.

You would have to contact Nintendo. Once a game is purchased on an account it is tied to that account and can't be moved. I have hear of people contacting Nintendo and explaining what happened and Nintendo deleted the game from the account and returned the purchase price but again you would have to contact Nintendo.

@amie815 If both switches are only linked to one account, then you won't be able to play both consoles at the same time.

You also cannot transfer a game to another account.

Having more than one Switch does require some learning. You probably have to buy two copies of a game if you want to play two consoles together.

Give Nintendo a call. Discussing multiple consoles usually sparks follow up questions, which is better on a phone vs here. Plus they may be better at explaining (depending on who you get. Usually I've talked with very knowledgeable reps, but a few days ago it seemed like a temp who had to look up everything.)
