With Gametrailers now under new ownership and seemingly having a bad time of it, someone's pinched his soapbox to slag off Nintendo and now Mr Pachter is looking for a new home. I find it interesting that due to his job Pacher can't make revenue frome another career, and does it for free. I wonder if it's for the love/fame of it, or as a promotional tool for his company?

I've never found any of the Pachter articles click baity, just negative. From my experience, its mostly just knee-jerk reactions to negative criticism because people don't like what he has to say. Most of what Patcher says usually makes sense in the source material, but most don't seem to make that far. The flame wars would be a result of that.
The man does tend to speak his mind and be rather blunt about it though, which probably rubs a lot of people the wrong way.
The problem I see is that the Nintendo faithful automatically thinks he is evil and refuses to listen to anything he says because "he spoke badly about Nintendo." Most of the time he is actually reasonable with his criticism, and he has even praised Nintendo in the past, but of course this praise often gets ignored because "he hates Nintendo!"
